The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) defines a disabled person as someone who has a physical or mental impairment that has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on his or her ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities.
This is does not mean pregnancy or if you are only going to be 5 minutes or if your having an off day or there are no other spaces!
Yep, I fear you have missed the point, as juliescot says. And due to my work with disabled service-users, I already know the DDA definition of disability - which is why I mentioned it in my letter to Sainsburys.
Blue badges have no legal status at all on private land, so it's a fact that anyone can park in a disabled bay at Tesco - whether they are pregnant, just fat or just plain lazy!:rotfl:
But don't get me wrong, in fact those of us who are making this point are not saying we condone parking in a disabled bay. We don't. We are just saying that it's not legal and certainly not right for a private company to issue scam 'fines' or 'penalties' at all.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It's a small claims court job if you don't pay up because it is a civil matter.
It will cost them to take you to court, so what is the point for £100? Just because they get judgement doesn't mean they get paid... they are just hoping you are one of the few that pays up - easy money for them.

I agree with the bit 'don't bother replying' but have to disagree with the piece in bold.
Unless there is a very shoddy defence (or the RK doesn't turn up in the infinitessimally tiny chance that they are taken to the County Court) then no PPC would get judgement. These charges are just a scam.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I appealed against my ECP £70 notice for having parked over a white lined space in a supermarket carpark for 45mins, but lost. The supermarket was undergoing renovation, parking revision, and I was unaware of the new rules. The signs were initially posted high up, but have subsequently been lowered (no photo). The adjacent vehicle also parked over the line for the same period but was not ticketed .. My claim of discrimination.(photo evidence). OK, so maybe I should have ignored the thing in the first place....but should i now? I'm a busy person and don't have the time to fight these things on principal. Should I?0

You don't need to spend any more time on it. Just file all their letters as they arrive, do not respond again at all and don't worry.
You say you 'lost' your appeal. There WAS no appeal, everyone who appeals loses because it's a sham appeal just to make them look like proper parking tickets!
They will get fed up and move on to another victim after a few letters. PPCs get their money (shedloads of it) from those victims who actually believe their lies and pay up. Don't be a victim!
Euro Car Parks send letters headed up 'CC Collect' I think, which pretends that they are about to take the matter to litigation. But they don't do litigation, ECP have never been known on parking forums to take anyone to court - it has not ever been reported AFAIK (there is a solid defence available on parking forums for anyone who is actually taken to Court, anyway, but you won't have to avail yourself of it).
I got another letter from a PPC today (I just filed it and laughed about their threats with OH, and I even read them out to my children who are well educated in this scam now)!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
