In that case I stand corrected, like I said not a subject I'm too polished up on, merely a source of entertainment for me at the moment, I like to pick up a ticket with my milk and groceries every now and then, their letters make me feel so WANTED how could anyone be lonely in this life so long as you have a car and shopping to do eh?

Everybody should have a hobby and what better way to pass the time relaxing reading some comedy literature.
Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.

Together we can make a difference.
  • New on this thread!
Daughter got a ticket in a Morrisons car park next to college and overstayed by 2hrs. She ignored first letter asking for £70 and a month later she has received a second letter demanding£90 now!. Read some of the threads and the template letter and wondering if we send the letter of giving reasons why we are not paying or wait! The car park is run by euro parks and having been along to see it, the signage is poor, too far away from most parking bays unless you are parking at the perimeter of the park.

    Any help appreciated

Ignore. Do not write to them She will get more threatening letters too. She can start a collection to show her friends if she wishes

Have you had experience of these car parks? Having read quite a bit tonight it seems the answer is to ignore rather than state your case! In a sense she wants to make her reasons clear and on the other I can see if she ignors the letters, 2 so far, a month apart will they get fed up?

Feel free to tell her to waste her time writing to these people if she so wishes.

Or she could better pass the time by reading the stickies and threads on here.

But it is only advice - she can do as she sees fit

  • Thought I would add my own story - well so far anyway.

My wife (who is heavily pregnant - 37 weeks) went shopping to the Merry Hill Shopping Centre in my car. She was with her friend also heavily pregnant (38 weeks). They couldn't find a space to park and (rightly or wrongly) parked in a disabled bay - the entire car park is free to park in.

A notice was on the car when she returned - and a letter followed a few weeks later from UKPC stating that no disabled badge was on display and therefor I had 7 days to pay the fine. I replied stating I was not the driver and added that I was actually at a sporting event and therefore could not be the driver.

Today I received my reply - which again pushed for payment (within 14 days at reduced charge!!!) and requested a copy of my disabled badge - sorry I can't recall when I stated I was disabled just that I was not the driver!!! There was no mention that I was not the driver - but a line that vehicle owners are basically liable...

I have sent a second letter stating I was not the driver and therefore not liable - I think they will try again to get payment. The nerve of these companies is unbelievable...
