Two points, It's not a fine and the BPA is not some sort of regulatory authority. It's just a trade association of parking companies with no official standing at all. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

holliemon - Civil Enforcement Ltd are very well known on this & other forums (CAG, Pepippo). I suggest you & your OH crack open a bottle of wine, settle down & both have a good read of them all. The advice given is solid & reliable.
Botton line - IGNORE, DO NOT CONTACT AGAIN & DON'T PAY
BTW - be advised that your OH should alert his Company to this situation or as RK they will be hassled by CEL & no doubt cave-in to them. The Company may then seek recovery from your OH.

many thanks for your kindness - he has had a peek on the internet at work and googled the company and I think he believes what I have been telling him that it is best to ignore it.
He owns he company with his partner so there are no worries there they laughed at him for getting the ticket
thank you x0 -

Hello holliemon from PTS! :j
Glad to see you've come here, got the right advice and taken it on board.
The debt collector letter-chain 'can' be scary if you are not expecting their legalese threats. But have a look at the stickies at the top of the parking board and you will see pictures of those 'scary letters' in Crabman's top thread:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163
Also read Crabman's other sticky 'please read before posting' (which no-one seems to do!). It answers most newbies questions and gives a link to Watchdog where they exposed this generic scam last year.
This is seriously nothing to worry about and a great opportunity for you and OH to tell friends, colleagues and relatives never to pay a private parking ticket. EVER.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Morning (coupon mad tried to quote your post but as a newbie cant) are you the same user name on PTS?
I admit i did not read the stickies - I took me a while to find this thread - I do find it hard to get around this site but that is probably because I have not been on it much - when I think about it I did find PTS hard and first but now it is second nature.
I am sure after my hols I will try and work out how the site works and how to find things easier.
Thanks all xxx
ooooo cant wait to join in the 75% off boots thread next year instead of just reading it x0 -
You MUST MUST MUST pay up, otherwise...........oooooohhhhhhhh, scary letters will arrive.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0

Hi
My OH recieved a lovely colourful piece of paper from CEL (now used to line the cat litter tray! :rotfl:)
After several hours and MSE I convinced him that he doesn't need to pay anything and owes nothing.
Well the first "letter" arrived 3 weeks ago, and nothing since... have they really given up after just one letter?
I was really looking forward to making origami with the rest0 -
I've had my second letter from Roxburghe Debt Collectors now.
Should I really continue to ignore? They suggest that within 10 days they are referring it to their solicitors, Graham White, for legal action.
They refer to 'anecdotal information being presented via the internet' and advise to 'seek independent legal advice' and refer to 'Civil Procedures Rules part 31, specifically 31.16 and 31.17'.
Bit scary...Oopsadaisy wrote: »Private means ignore, ignore, ignore some more.
Yes, really.
No seriously.
Yes that's right, ignore.
No really, ignore.
Honest it's true.
Yes, it's outrageous.
Yes we know you're a nice person, but still ignore.
Believe me, ignore.
yeah debt collection - no difference, ignore.Er...0 -

Roxburghe, Graham White same as!
Information on the internet, saying ignore is correct.
Civil procedure rules part 31.16 and 31.17! Tosh not used in the small claims court. Just more legal mumbo jumbo.0
