I am new to these forums and indeed this is my very first. I have read all the advice and am going to ignore ignore ignore. However I am probably not made of the stern stuff you need but am going to give it a try. I am RK and received a 'invoice' from UK Parking Control for parking in disabled bay. I was not driving my husband was and his valid disabled badge was displayed however he thinks the clock badge was very partially covering the date on the actual badge. It is completely in date and valid. I was tempted to write Martins letter saying I was not the driver and can also prove the badges were in date and valid but having read all the advice on here (which is excellent) decided not to. I have received my second letter from them from a debt recovery agency threatening legal action. They quote amongst others "this account will be passed to our litigation team and legal recovery action may commence' 'A typical case will be referred to the County Courts for an application for a CCJ and if successful enforcement options will include an attachment of earnings order, county court bailiffs being instructed". They also state in bold letters "you can view a selection of CCJ's we have successfully obtained against people who have ignored our correspondence on our website drpl co uk. I am a little intimated by this and need some advise on whether to still ignore.
Thank you so much.0 -

Please see my answer on the "appeals" thread. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
They quote amongst others "this account will be passed to our litigation team and legal recovery action may commence' "May" = "won't". You don't have an account with them and their "legal team" is probably the tea boy and the office cleaner.
'A typical case will be referred to the County Courts for an application for a CCJ They can't just "apply" for a CCJ. They actually have to win a court case first.
and if successful enforcement options will include an attachment of earnings order, county court bailiffs being instructed". None of that can happen unless they take you to court, they win and then you still don't pay. As they never go to court this is impossible.
They also state in bold letters "you can view a selection of CCJ's we have successfully obtained against people who have ignored our correspondence on our website drpl co uk. Those ccj's may not be anything to do with parking, or they could even be made up.
I am a little intimated by this and need some advise on whether to still ignore.
Thank you so much.
Don't be intimidated, these letters are meant to scare the uninformed into paying. Ignoring works.0 -
Thanks Sir Roger,
Just needed someone to reassure me, I will be taking your advice and ignoring.0 -
Advice please; Last Saturday I got a parking ticket for parking 'Out of marked bay', I took a photo of my car and whilst I was slightly out of the bay I had not prevented the car next to me from parking. This is a private company Town & City Parking. I have another 4 days before I pay the 'fine' at the lower rate. Do I ignore as per other advice?0

Yes, just ignore. Just ask yourself what actual material loss has been suffered by the land-owner for this very minor breach of their silly "rules".What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

Parking on or over the markings!
Sorry you is guilty of this horrendous crime, it is my duty to sentence you in the only manner the law allows. You will be taken from here to a place where you will be held, up to a time when you will be hanged by the neck until you are dead! God have mercy on your soul!:p
They are havin a laugh! ignore the idiots!;)0 -

Hello there.
I was just wondering what the outcome has been with your PCN from Senator as I recieved a ticket from them on Thursday this week at Didcot Sainsbury's.
I don't intend to pay as many posts I have read suggest that there is no legal action that these private car parking companies can take to get me to part with the £50 fine (£25 if paid within the week).
Any information is appreciated:rotfl:Marmitefinder wrote: »Hi peeps, thought I'd tell you the story so far on a charge notice I got.
A bit of background info. Didcot Sainsburys car park is free for the first two hours - go to machine and push button for a ticket. If you want to stay longer you have to pay.
I usually shop there at weekends and usually get a machine's ticket before entering the store. The local cinema is within walking distance - if we are going to see a film I pay for the longer ticket time.
A while ago - 20/08/10, I parked up and went into the store to shop without going to the machine - free for the first two hours, why bother wasting the machines paper tickets? Only planned on being 20 mins.
Came out to find PCN on windscreen from Senator security services (working for the Orchard centre) £50, dropped to £25 if paid within 14 days. Searched for this company on this website but could not find anyone with previous experiences.
Reason for PCN? "Failed to display a valid pay and display ticket"
I'm going to ignore everything as I should. Free parking for the first two hours.
Still waiting to laugh at any further letters from them - guess they'll try to find the registered keeper next.Taking their time.
Had to reassure the other half about all the "may" be taken to court mumbo jumbo.0
