Has anyone heard of G24
Very well known. They even have their own letter trail here. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2214803I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
Thank you, I have just had a quick look at that link and without reading what it and other posts say I would be worried. How do these people sleep at night0

We have all heard of G24, they are just another PPC.
We even have a poster called SodG24 who may come along in a minute! Or just look for his posts on this forum.
Ignore the PPC.
And to magicmat, are you for real, you sound like you are on the side of the PPC? Surely you don't really believe you should pay that amount just because they have slapped a fake PCN on your car? What makes you think they can enforce a breach of contract allegation against the registered keeper of a car?
We do not condone the way you parked but even worse is the way PPCs behave - which surely you can see is similar to a protection racket?
To you too, ignore the PPC.
You will both get a series of letters to cheerfully ignore, which are shown in full in our top sticky threads. You should also both read all Crabman's stickies, including the one with the link to a Watchdog programme which covered this generic scam and showed just what to do with such a bogus PCN.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I had a "fine" and wrote back saying I was not driving, they wrote back and said pay or we pass the debt on, I wrote again saying I was not driving and now I have had a letter from debt recovery plus, I phoned and told them the ticket is in dispute and to refer it back to tps and also e mailed this to them, they say I must pay in 7 days or they take me to court, what do I do? I do not want to pay but am worried about court action.:(0

It's all bluff. They don't know the identity of the driver so they are stymied. They are getting desperate because they know they will lose. They won't take you to court, simple as that. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
There won't be any court action, just ignore them from now on. You owe them nothing. They know that in a large number of cases that if they keep on threatening enough a lot of people will pay up just to make it go away. Its up to you,I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Then they have just broken the law, if you dispute the amount and communicated this to them, they MUST by law pass the debt back to the PPC, by failing to do so they have really put their foot in it!
Anyway the best advice is to ignore the scamming shysters from now on!Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Is it really as simple as that? Even though I DID park on private property, and DID go against thier "contract" by not paying for a ticket.
(Not only is the station car park expensive, but its usually full, so by the time you have searched, and or walked from the far end of nowhere, you miss the train!)
Yes it really is as simple as just ignoring the ticket! The parking company are unlikely to take you to court as they will probably lose (judging by many past experiences of others) and spend too much in costs!
I think the point is that the "contract" was invalid in the first place, the parking company has no right to demand payment of a "fine", only Government agencies such as the Council and Police can issue legitimate Parking charges, many owners of private land use clamping to deter unauthorised parking (although not for much longer - yay!) or have physical barriers to stop unauthorised parking.
So relax, simply throw away the ticket and ignore any correspondance you may get from the parking company as none of it is enforceable! :j
As much as I sympathise with your opinion of station car parks, I wouldn't say they are legitimate reasons for unauthorised parking :A0 -

Oh trust me, im not justifying my actions, just agreeing with the previous poster! My only point is, i dont really have an excuse...but Im happy to ignore all communication, ive got pretty big balls!
Mind you, flipping all of this around, if i was the landlord I would be pretty peeved! If i have a nice piece of VERY expensive real estate, what right do people have to park on it without paying? I guess there is no answer...maybe there should be a happy medium...and SENSIBLE way are charging people, and "fineing"...and then inforcing it, without strong arm tactics etc.
Anyway...the message is IGNORE then! And i will...thanks y'all!0
