Hi all, I am new to this forum. Yes, I am here because i have just received a parking charge notice for parking outside a certain cheap sports shop in st helens.

I entered this forum in a panic and now after reading many of your posts I would like to thank you all for the information I have read.

I will be ignoring this "charge Notice" Good

I would however love to know how many people this has happened to in St helens so the information could be used. Which car park
Also is there nothing that could be done via data protection act to stop DVLA giving our information to these scammers? Is it worth me contacting DVLA. Nope the give it to anyone for £2.50 oh and reasonable grounds?

Thanks again for all your help and advice

  • i think that is unaccepable of dvla , is there no legal grounds to stop your info being sold
  • The company is G24 and the car park is Sports direct in St Helens

    Hello!

A little advice please? I parked in a pub car park which is close to the train station in Fleet. They do have parking ticket machines, and signs up saying that you need to buy one. I did'nt, and came back after a morning to find a Parking Charge Notice from EFPN on behalf of the landlord. I dont have any defence, I didnt pay to park!

I am just about to pay this ticket, but is it worth just ignoring it, or am I likely to be persued legitimedly? The notice is for £100, £60 if paid withen 7 days.

This sounds like a private company parking ticket, not from a Government Authority so you can simply ignore it, just be careful about parking there again as you never know what the landowner might chose to do to your car while you are away!!

I don't blame you for parking there though, train car parks are extortionate, my nearest one costs £7.50 a day, so for a commuter that is about £2500 a year...no thanks!!

These ppc tickets can safely be ignored, don't try to appeal-you will lose and just save them the £2.50 it costs to the dvla. You were naughty in not buying a ticket but they have no right to charge a penalty like this.

Good that you don't intend to pay, but please don't call it a fine. Only Councils, Courts & Police can fine people, all you have received is an invoice for alleged damages

In fact, police and local authorities issue penalties. Courts issue fines.

Is it really as simple as that? Even though I DID park on private property, and DID go against thier "contract" by not paying for a ticket.

(Not only is the station car park expensive, but its usually full, so by the time you have searched, and or walked from the far end of nowhere, you miss the train!)
  • Has anyone heard of G24
  • Sports direct in St Helens and the company issuing the notice is called G24 LTD, many thanks for your advice
