Makes no difference. Even if you felt you'd parked badly, still NEVER pay a PPC fake PCN.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

If you have some guilty feelings and think you should pay then give some money to a charity where it will do more good.

  • We parked our car in the city centre in Newcastle with £5.80 parking for 4 hours and left to go shopping when we returned we had a parking ticket on the windscreen for £80. Upon checking my ticket had slipped when I closed the door. When I got home I immediately sat down a wrote a letter explaining the situation and that I had paid for the parking and this was a mistake and would they revoke the ticket.

I got a reply back saying that after they carefully considered the situation and would not cancel the charges as I had breached the regulations and if not paid within 10 days would go up to £120.

You can imagine my anger just after xmas.

I have read and heard alot about not paying and ignoring the letters. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

We have no thoughts that you will not have already read about. Nothing has changed in the 12 hrs since the previous posting saying ignore all PPC's.

    In summary.......

Private = ignore, ignore, ignore some more.

    Council/police - appeal.

unless it proves otherwise the timescale and cost leads one to assume a ppc. Don't the council at least have to give you 14 days before losing the discount?

Since my last post on our current dealings with CT and their monkeys in this thread. I've been looking around these and other forums about the behaviour of these PPCs and it is quite extraordinary. From looking at some of the posts it is clear that you are never going to win an appeal

They are basically working an extortion racket - and there seem to be so many of them.

Do we have idea of how many nationally operating PPC's there are?

Is it a profitable business to be in? Do most people just pay up?

What's the food chain - how does the guy dishing out tickets get paid?

How do the Roxburghes and Graham Whites of this world do?

How does the client PPC relationship work? Who pays who?

It is amazing that until you are touched by this murky underworld you never know it is there and it is even more amazing that in this day and age they can be getting away with this sort of scumbag operation.
