  • I came home from work yesterday to discover I have a parking fine from a Company called Parking Eye Chorley! as I am a disabled person I looked on there website to see if I could appeal they didnt give much away apart from disabled badge holders are not Excempt. As I was so furious I emailed them asking them about appealing I haven't had a reply as yet but after scaling the internet the majority of people are saying dont pay up.

My question is have a made the big mistake of contacting them, Here is a copy of the email I sent can someone please advise me on what to do next ..........!!

I have received a parking charge notice this morning Claiming I over stayed the 3 hour period on the 19th Dec 2010 @ the Kingswood shopping park Hull. I would like to appeal against the charge because I am a disabled driver and have a Blue Badge. I rung the number on the letter but its not very clear as to how to appeal against the discussion , do I pay the fine before the 12th Jan 2011 @£50 and hope I receive my money back if its found in MY favour or do I appeal and if its NOT found in my favour still pay the £50. Surely Disabled Drivers are not penalised for over staying especially when they are wheel chairs users.
Your help in clarifying this matter would be much appreciated

The advice is to ignore it, and if they harrass you then tell them to stop.

I wouldn't bother appealing, and certainly not using the reason that you are a disabled badge holder as that has no bearing on overstaying a time period does it.

i received a fine for parking more thn an hour while visiting a netto store in bolton by excel parking.£60!!!
i have written back appealing against it before i saw this forum as i decided im not having this!!
they wrote back saying i have to pay it before the 11th of jan and failure to reply may involve court proceedings.
i contacted cab advice and they`ve told me to pay it and then appeal to get my money back to avoid court??
can they pass these fines onto debt collectors?
    thanks
    tracey.

Its not a fine, its an invoice. Private companies cannot issue fines.

"May" being the operative word. It won't.

CAB are known to be useless with private parking. Under no circumstances pay. The advice here is far better. Appeals simply don't exist.

They can if they want, but debt collectors are not bailiffs and have no power to do anything other than beg for money. And its not a fine.
    thanks

Read all the threads you can find on here about Excel, you will soon realise how these companies operate.
    Just ignore them.

When will CAB get real. Its a total waste of time appealing once thay have your money, indeed its almost as much a waste to appeal before they have it. Once they have their ill gotten gains they ain't gonna part with it just because you ask them.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

Ignore them, take note that the "may" also includes the concept of "won't" as in they won't do court as they cannot justify their charge as a reasonable consequential loss for breach of an inferred contract.
