  • Can anyone advise me please. I live in Scotland and on boxing day received a parking charge from a PPC who have the BPA logo on their ticket. The charge of £60 was for staying longer than 2 hrs in the car park. Should I ignore this charge? Any advice would be much appreciated.

No wonder you are ticked off ;) anyway its private parking invoice, which means its not enforceable at all, which means you should ignore completely, they will not take you to court, they will not damage your credit rating, they don't have a leg to stand on.

They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
  • Thanks Taffy 056, that puts my mind at rest. Have a good new year!!

To cheer things up a bit may I recommend this Pepipoo link. Take a look at the two letters in post #1 written to our old friends Roxburghe/Graham White, and the one to Michael Sobell in post #12:-

I liked that as well. Love to see their faces when they open it.

It's the DVLA who sell the registered keeper details for £2.50. Yes, really.

    Hello

I received parking charge notice from CP Plus in November, demanding £80 for the priviledge of parking in the Roadchef car park (equivalent to £10/hour). I was not the driver of the vehicle at the time and sent them a letter to that effect (usingMSE template), also stating that I was under no legal obligation to telll them who was driving the car.
They sent me a reminder at the beginning of December, which I ignored.
Today, I received aa "Legal Action Pending" notice, asking me to pay £120 and telling me that my ability to obtain credit in the future may be affected if I don't!
And also that they basically will take me to court if I don't pay.
I have read the guide but find it all very confusing and worrying, what do I do now?
They say they have photo evidence of my car being parked there, which I know is true although I wasn't driving it at the time. I also know that their signs suggested a £10 charge for parking. Do I offer them £10 to shut them up? Do I go there and take a photo of the signs?
Help and advice would be most appreciated, thanks.

Just ignore. So they have a pretty picture of your car. That doesn't prove who the driver was, and they have no way of identifying the driver. All that talk of of court and credit rating is just an empty threat from a bunch of bullies who know they cannot follow through these threats. So just relax and stop worrying.
