They cannot affect your credit rating and you will NOT be taken to court. These are the scare mongering tactics of a company that is losing income because people are starting to wise up that their begging letters are not legally enforceable. Continue ignoring, you have NOTHING to worry about.Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!0

Isabelle - make sure you have no further contact with them.
The advice given on this site to write to them is regarded by forum members to be ill advised as the best method of dealing with scum like these companies is to ignore.0 -
You can see why we hate and loath private parking companies when they purposely set out to scare and intimidate people. It's "demanding money with menaces" in all but name. I agree, scum of the earth. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
-
Ignore them, of course, just echoing what all the others have rightly said. Stop worrying about something that has a similar legality and enforceability as a phishing email. Would you worry if you didn't pay a phishing email and they wrote again? No, you'd delete it and ignore the extortion attempt.
Click on the link on my signature - look closely at everything in Crabman's two sticky threads.
See the actual debt collector letters you will receive, in full colour(!) and watch the legal expert on watchdog make a paper aeroplane out of a PPC ticket which had a pretty photo of the car on it. Get used to the letters now and understand this for what it is.
Please stop writing to them.. The template letters are old news, you'd have done better to have asked us here first. On the link below, to the whole current sub-board you'll realise just how common your question is (you may think this is the only thread on the issue?!).
We've been telling people to IGNORE all letters from PPCs and their debt collectors for a few years. Most of us have collected quite a few of these fake PCNs, sometimes on purpose so as to costs them money. Read the threads and learn, tell your friends about this scamming cowboy industry.
There's no Court, no bailiff, no CCJ and no effect on your credit rating whatsoever.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I phoned up Town & Country Parking today to ask them why their signs at the ASDA store in Retford Nottinghamshire have the words "Penalty Charge Notice" prominently displayed on them. The woman I spoke to said that they are aware of this and that the signs are to be replaced. I asked why, in the meantime, one of their operatives couldn't just stick some tape over the offending words. I was told that "this was not possible" and nothing will happen until the signs are renewed.
Of course a cynic would say that the longer the old signs are in place, the longer they will fool people into thinking they have some sort of official standing and that they must pay up.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Seen a few signs [Currys/PC World] where they have put a Dyno over the offending phrase with the correct one on it.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0

I somehow doubt that they will actually have put anything useful up.0 -

Thats cos they are not allowed sharp instruments to cut the tape with, they might hurt themselves. Bless.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -

They haven't had their "working at heights training" so cannot climb a ladder, to stick the tape on, so elf 'n safety dictates they erect scaffolding. problem is they would need 10 prospects to pay their invoices to fund the scaffolding for each sign........................:rotfl:0
