Please don't offer them anything at all, you are just confirming the name of the driver which they don't as yet, the registered keeper is often not the driver, you are not legally obliged to tell them who the driver is, they can't take you to court without that info!
Besides all that they will never take you to court in any case, they would lose if they did!Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Hi, hopefully somebody can give me a bit of quick advice...
I've had a letter from 'Premier Parking Solutions' demanding £130 for 'contravening parking regulations' in Totton Retail Park - which turns out to be in Southampton.
On the day I'm supposed to have done this, I (and my car) were in Leeds at work.
Should I just ignore them, or write back telling them this? I've never even been to Southampton so I don't know where they've got my registration plate from.0 -
Two choices, either ignore or ignore. Don't bother to contact them at all. You could report to police if you think that your numberplate has been cloned. As for the PPC its not worth contacting them as they will drag it out longer.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Simple.
Private parking ticket = ignore it. Do not appeal, do not offer to pay anything.
Council parking ticket = post a copy of the PCN on pepipoo and successfully appeal it
Council clamp = post a copy of receipt & PCN on pepipoo and successfully appeal it
Private clamp = cut it off (best bet is never to park where there are clamping signs)
Police ticket = pay it
HTHPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Why is it okay for the DVLA to sell personal details to private parking charge companies when they have no legal right to enforce the charges anyway? Daren't say online the numerous felonious ways that this information could be used so why isn't it restricted to ONLY legitimate departments such as police/fire brigade etc?

They do it to raise millions last year PPCs logged 740.000 on-line enquires and 100,000 paper. thats £2.1 million, from PPCs alone.
The PPCs can enforce a charge against you and would probably win if they could get everything right. Trouble is for them it would not be worth it as they could only recover loss. Plus they would have to prove who the driver was and that a contract was made. Its not that there unenforceable its just that they are not winnable.:D except by default or chance.;)0 -
I wish I had read this thread some 8 months ago! Thank you to all the knowledgeable posters on here for the advice.0

Just keep ignoring. Debt-collection agencies have no powers to force you to pay. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

Depends what you mean by 'if you ignore the fake ticket or first letter they don't follow it through'. They don't follow through with Court, nor CCJs, nor bailiffs, nothing at all except useless debt collection agency threatograms in 99.99% of cases. All the known letter-chains are shown in pictures on a sticky thread at the top of this forum, thread by Crabman:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163
Then there's another thread by Crabman near the top telling you clearly that these tickets are unenforceable trash, there's also a link to a youtube video from Watchdog earlier this year. Watch that, read some more threads just like this one and you'll know it's safe to ignore.
Have a good Christmas and spread the word to any doubting friends & relatives. Whatever you do, do not pay, just play snap as the expected letters arrive.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
