Is that the actual quote from Euro Car Parks to The Sunday Times?

If so, should we put it in the "PPC Letters & Scams: What to Expect" thread?

It is, I see Taffy056 has obliged regarding the links in that thread!
  • Well sorry for the delay in responding. - oopsadaisy you asked how i missed the sticky, as it states under my name i am a newby. until 5 minutes ago, and after 20 minutes of searching i didnt know what a sticky was, or where to find it. it would be more useful to direct people as to where to find the sticky, rather than leave negative comments.
but i wont dwell on that, i have now read the sticky, and it still doesnt offer me the reassurance i require, so i feel the need to ask more questions.
Thankyou to the people who have helped so far, and i would appreciate more help + advice or directing to the post /sticky whatever where the answers are. thankyou.
I realise the answers to these are going to be unlikely, but is it possible a baliff could knock on my door?
do they have any legal right to enter my property + take goods?
do i have the right to ring the police if they do enter my property?
if i end up in court, are you lot coming with me? ;o)
PS if the same questions are being asked over + over, why are the answers not on the sticky?

No in the extremely unlikely chance that you where taken to court and even more unlikely lost, you would then be ordered by the court to pay. If you didn't then they could ask for enforcement and bailiffs could be asked to attend. Even then you do not have to let them in! Depending how far they go before giving up they will threaten all sorts of things its all bluster they have as much power as you getting money from me.

do they have any legal right to enter my property + take goods?

    No

do i have the right to ring the police if they do enter my property?

Yes [unless you let them in bailiffs not debt collectors]

if i end up in court, are you lot coming with me? ;o)

If you do I,ll come but I bet I wont need to pack:)

PS if the same questions are being asked over + over, why are the answers not on the sticky?

Follow the links in the sticky and read the advice given. However the only real opinion you will receive is ignore, Have a look around and see the amount of ignorer's some with multiple invoices and then look for any who has been taken to court and lost.

Without checking [so I may be wrong], iirc the sticky covers pretty much everything you need to know.

The questions you are asking wrt bailiffs, etc are moot...in that ignore, ignore, ignore means they never enter the picture.

But to be more helpful the answers you are seeking are no, no, yes, yes, and have another read.

  • I wish I had come across this thread ealier - I wrote to CFentral Ticketing appealing a £65 charge which was applied to my on the grounds that the notice displayed was totally inadequate. I was going to take photo's to prove my point, but by the time I returned with a camera two days later they had replaced it with a much more prominent one. They replied saying my appeal had failed, and I had a further 7 days to pay. That was over a month ago and I have heard nothing since. I was considering paying up to forstall any further action, but in having read the posts on this thread I think I will sit tight.

Well done in not paying ;) when the threatgrams start bare in mind that what they are asking from you is not enforceable and should be ignored utterly. Also don't enter in any discussion with them as they will just tell you the appeal was not successful, they turn down all appeals as its against their scamming nature!
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Hope you weren't reading the 'ParkRight' sticky, legit-remit (it's not relevant). And I totally understand how newbies miss sticky threads. Whereas people used to using forums come here each day and read the board by clicking on the whole board view like this with stickies clearly at the top...

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163

...newbies often come to the forum having read Martin's article on parking tickets or having Googled about PPC tickets. In other words, having followed a link and just found one thread, not the whole board. So many people never see the sticky threads until they are pointed out.

The sticky in question that oopsadaisy meant:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1363571

The other sticky showing pictures of the scammers' letter-chains (threatograms):

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2214803

Yep, private parking co's send all these threats and they even use debt collectors.

Big wow - there is a huuuuge difference between debt collectors and bailiffs! Debt collector letters are about as scary as a marketing mailshot (junk mail) because they cannot enforce payment. They CANNOT send the boys round. It doesn't happen, cannot happen, will not happen. NO BAILIFFS WILL APPEAR.

Relax, legit-remit and Philip_s and enjoy the pre-Christmas season safe in the knowledge that these irritating and predictable threatograms make very good fire-lighters now it's got colder. :D
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD
  • Right, thanks for the information folks. think my last 2 question before i ignore, ignore, ignore is....if i recognise a debt envelope before opening it, should i return to sender? or open and keep for my wall of fame?
and as i am ex-directory, if they do obtain my home number, have they done that illegally?
