Private Parking Tickets discussion

  • Before reading this site I paid for a parking fine to Euro private car parking firm on behalf of Sainsbury's in July this year.
To cut a long story short, I put an hour parking ticket and was fined because I went over by 20minutes because I was taken ill.
I wrote initially to the company with the fine and then emailed them as Sainsburys suggested and had no reply to either. Sainsbury washed their hands of it basically saying they can't do anything else -I've not shoppped there since.
Could I write again to Euro parking informing them that I've taken advice and been charged wrongly under mitigating circumstances. what if they don't reply again?
  • I'm afraid the only answer they will give is "tough, we've got your money so go away"
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

Can't see them refunding your money tbh.

And you didn't get "fined" by anyone.

Try sending the Sainsbury's manager copies of the receipts for your shopping at Tescos/Asda etc in the interim with an explanatory letter.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

This from CAG is a perfect example of the stupidity of PPCs. A motorist was clamped in Windsor because he commited the heinous "crime" of having their ticket upside down. This is the reply he received from the clamping company:-

"It is necessary that the ticket be displayed so that the details are visible to the operatives. On this occasion the ticket was upside-down; therefore the operatives were unable to check if the ticket was valid. The conditions for parking state that when a driver parks there, they agree to pay a fee and to display the proof that payment has been made - The Ticket. Unfortunately, you failed to abide be these conditions when the ticket was incorrectly displayed and the validity of the ticket could no be ascertained; therefore, your vehicle was liable to be immobilised."

I can see their point! The average clamper has a neck so thick they find it impossible to bend their head to read an upside down a ticket. Idiots!
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

But Windsor banned clamping last year (ASBO for anyone clamping in their borough).

:rotfl:Yeah but I think they were charging people with an offence as well. I definitely recall clamping was banned by local Councillors in Windsor.

 Despite my recent euphoria, and the intervention of M & S management at Deepdale I have to day received the final warning off Mr white.co. I have not contacted them, I will not contact them, but I will attend court if need be. and now back to M & S at Deepdale as requested by them should I hear more. I will keep on the Forum informed of the next event.

It is now more than two months since receiving the final warning from our Mr White and Co, I ignored the warning, no further demands and/or communications have been received. I would have most certainly attended any court summons. No other contact has been received whatsoever, hopefully this has now been put to bed, once again thank you one and all for all you help and advice.
