Do not pay.
Ignore them.0 -
There is no appeals process. It's a trick to get you to contact them and make you think it's a proper ticket.
No 'appeal' is ever allowed. They're not going to turn down money are they?
It's a scam. just ignore them.0 -
An appeal only serves to confirm to them that they have the correct RK and so will send more begging letters than if they were ignored.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I wonder if anyone can help me.
This forum often states if you receive a parking charge notice from a private company to ignore it - but the costs threatened are so high I'm worried to do so.
I pulled over for a moment to ask my mechanic where he'd like me to park my car, and had moved it withing a couple of minutes - but over a month later I have received a letter from Sussex Security Solutions explaining I need to pay £75, or if I pay within 9 days - £50. They will not speak about the issue over the phone - i must either pay...or pay and appeal. Trouble is - I only just received the notice because the postman delivered it to the correct address in the wrong area (sent to the same road but in Rottingdean, not Brighton where I live). So they will argue I already owe £75.
The letter also has a digital image of my car stationary on the side of the road outside a building, with a clear warning sign next to it. The image however must have come from a video camera as there was no one around and I was not issued with a ticket at the time.
I'm worried to pay as I believe it would then be very hard to claim the money back - the website lists a load of reasons for appeal that will be immediately rejected...leaving little room for appeal anyway.
Any advice would be gladly welcomed.
nice.
very nice. expensive too but a couple of 'errors'.
one page clearly shows a photo of a penalty charge notice.
but that's not what you were issued with, is it? you were given a parking charge notice. am I right? a huge world of difference.
and over on their appeals page it uses the word offence.
eh? what offence would that be if you were parked on private property?
misleading, mendacious and meaningless.
don't pay. don't respond.0 -

Yes it was a parking charge notice...
I have been in touch with the police who have received a lot of calls about this firm - but couldn't tell me anything further.
The council also say that the area of the road is privately owned.
Am I still within my rights to ignore it?
Thanks so much0 -

I would expect that the picture was taken from from their Drone Surveillance Plane. They are obviously a very swish outfit. :rotfl:
However, despite all the paraphernalia it all adds up to sweet ......:D0 -
Thanks ever so much for taking the time to lool.

up until 2 months ago I would have groaned and paid. then I got a ticket from a monkey-outfit called euro car parks. I spent (my reckoning) 6hrs scouring sites such as this. the likes of coupon-mad, peter the piper, alex and other helpful people pointed out the errors of my ways. I became a born-again cynic and joined the church of non-paying evangelists. I haven't paid these chimps and never will.
the police won't be interested in yr case because the matter is essentially private.
don't pay.
oooh they'll chuck all the toys out of the pram, handing the 'case' over to debt-collectors.
oooh they'll threaten all sorts. bailiffs, distrainment of goods, damaged credit scores, etc.
further 'in space no-one can hear you scream' threat-o-grams.
and then: nothing.
expect about 5 of these ultra-absorbent, soft, long and very strong letters.0 -
I know I have clicked the thanks button - but thank you all very much for your advice.
Now if only I could charge them for all the calls I made before I came here ;-)0 -
Hi Folks, I wish i had seen this web site before I appealed. I am a disabled motorist and there were no places to park at my local Asda, there was ayellow hatched area next to the bays and I looked to see if there were any signs saying no parking - you guessed it there weren't. i disaplayed my blue badge (I use a powered wheelchair) any way after being in the store I had a ticket on my screen when I came out. I appealed and yep they turned it down saying I should have parked in a bay (there weren't any). Do I still have to pay. I know i know I gave them my details. Help!0
