  • Hi, I’ve received a private parking ticket from a company called “ParkingEye” there are demanding a £120.00 from me parking on their land.

I went in to Manchester city centre on the 16th October @ 21:00, the car park in question barrier was up and the machine was out of order.

There were other cars in the car park so I parked, when I got back to the car about one hour later the barrier was still up and the machine still out of order and no ticket on my car.

The letter states that there have taken photographic evidence and demand full payment by the 2nd November.

I am very worried about this and I am scared they will come to my house and clamp my car.

Please can anybody help me on this matter...... Thank you

You case is no different to all the others featured in here. Just ignore them and read the advice posted at the top of this forum.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Unless it is the police or the council, forget it. Whatever you do, don't reply to these people. Be prepared for more letters before they give up.

Parking Eye don't own the land, they do not clamp and they have NEVER taken anyone to court as they know they will lose.
Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!

Try reading the sticky called 'Read this sticky before posting on here'. Can't understand how people miss it??

Or try searching this forum [or even google] with the words "Parking Eye".

  • Hello,

This is my first post so please bear with me in case I have not followed the rules.

I visited a local Comet store on a Sunday morning and parked my vehicle on the free car park and arrived at 10.30 thinking that it opened at 10.30 but found it didnt open until 11.00.There are only several shops in this retail park and all were closed.I decided to walk across the road to a cash machine and just generally wait about until Comet opened at 11.I returned to my car to find a ticket placed on the windscreen timed at 10.36 with the reason being,"Abused patron parking."
The car park was empty and all shops were closed.Having read previous threads regarding Central Ticketing and basically all PPCs,I decided to ignore it.My problem is that the vehicle involved is one that I have just taken out on a private lease contract from Lombard. So they wrote to the registered keeper,Lombard, who provided them with my details. To top it all Lombard have now charged me a £17 admin fee for passing my details on to Central Ticketing in the first place. The Central Ticketing charge has now risen to £147 and I dont want to pay them this ridiculous charge. However,Lombard have stated that if they receive further correspondence from Central Ticketing they will pay it on my behalf and re-charge me accordingly. Please can someone offer me any advice as I am really worrying and losing sleep over this and do not want to pay these leeches.Did want to write to them directly to say I was the driver and deal with me direct but have read I shouldnt do that but dont want Lombard to pay and charge me as if I dont pay them I breach the contract and lose the car etc. Please help.
    Thanks in advance...

Tell your leasing company its not an enforceable fine, check their t&cs and tickets of this sort will not be there, demand that the £17 be returned and tell them they are in breach of their terms, also tell them they have no legal right to pay this ticket, inform them that you will take legal action against them if they don' t refund your money, trust me you will win.

A private parking charge notice is not a 'fine'. I presume the Lombard Fleet Manager doesn't have a clue about the difference between that and a real fine from the Local Authority or the Police? These firm need educating as they cannot release your data like this nor can they pay parking charge notices (which are invoices relevant ONLY to the driver):

    http://www.fleetnews.co.uk/news/2009...s-urged/30698/

It's highly doubtful IMHO that Lombard's contract or any t&cs allow the company to pay private 'parking charge notices'. Look closer at those t&cs - it probably says they may pay 'any parking fines/offences'. A private PCN is neither, you must spell the difference out to Lombard.

Read the above linky, print it out and send it to Lombard with an assertive letter.

State firmly that you do not authorise them to pay this third party and HAVE NOT ever authorised them to give the PPC your details - so they have already breached Data Protection laws. Demand the 'admin fee' which they erroneously charged to be refunded forthwith and tell them to not reply at all to any letters from that company, it really is none of their business.

They really need to learn about this scam. If the Lombard Manager is really so credulous as to pay any old invoice that quotes the car reg number and 'looks official' then can I send him one, seventy pounds seems a nice round figure?! :rotfl:
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • I wonder if anyone can help me.

This forum often states if you receive a parking charge notice from a private company to ignore it - but the costs threatened are so high I'm worried to do so.

I pulled over for a moment to ask my mechanic where he'd like me to park my car, and had moved it withing a couple of minutes - but over a month later I have received a letter from Sussex Security Solutions explaining I need to pay £75, or if I pay within 9 days - £50. They will not speak about the issue over the phone - i must either pay...or pay and appeal. Trouble is - I only just received the notice because the postman delivered it to the correct address in the wrong area (sent to the same road but in Rottingdean, not Brighton where I live). So they will argue I already owe £75.

The letter also has a digital image of my car stationary on the side of the road outside a building, with a clear warning sign next to it. The image however must have come from a video camera as there was no one around and I was not issued with a ticket at the time.

I'm worried to pay as I believe it would then be very hard to claim the money back - the website lists a load of reasons for appeal that will be immediately rejected...leaving little room for appeal anyway.

Any advice would be gladly welcomed.
