I'm afraid that is not likely to happen. Now they have it it almost certainly gone. Most PPC's ignore all ccj's and are very difficult for a bailiff to trace.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

If you sent a cheque and it hasn't been cashed yet, phone up your bank and report the cheque lost in the post so could they stop it (hopefully you didn't use a cheque guarantee card), you might have to pay £10 to stop it, but which is better £10 or however much it was.0 -
Hi all,
I've recently received a ticket from Parking Eye because I stayed more then the limited time they allow you to eat, which is 2 hours I think. I have sent them a letter using the template I found on this site and saying that I will not pay because 1. their signs are not properly displayed (I added pictures), 2. the car park is free so there is no loss to the landowner and 3. I was at Mc Donalds eating so there is no loss to them either.
Today I've received a reply saying that my appeal was unsuccessful and that further evidence is required if I wish to consider my appeal further.
The thing is I didn't say I was appealing but that I was not going to pay. Shall I reply to them to specify this to them? Or shall I then just ignore them from now on? I know a lot of people are saying that their threats are rubbish, but it always make you think when you see on the letter the risks of receiving a court judgement. Has that happened to anyone?
Thanks0 -
You've had your say, they've ignored it, you now do the same to them.0

You cannot receive a court judgement until you have been to court and lost. As Parking Eye have never ever taken anyone to court this is impossible.
Ignore them and do not contact them again, they will give up eventually.0 -

I'm happy with that and the other replies, thanks guys.
I read a lot of threads and articles about the subject and lots were mentionning the Watchdog program. Thanks Coupon-mad for the advise on checking on YouTube and tomorrow on the BBC. Will do!0 -

Hi all, newbie here. I just got a PCN ticket from a company called Vehicle Management Direct Ltd in Doncaster last night at a football stadium. I parked for about 5 mins while I dropped my sons off for a footy trainig session there were running late for. As the designated areas were full, I parked by the building and didnt see the sign mentioning tickets etc. When I got back to my car, the guy was standing there and had slapped the ticket on my screen. I begged him to remove it as I was leaving but he refused saying he couldnt do anything about it as he had already written it out. This was 6.45pm. The PCN says £100 but reduced to £70 if you pay within 7 days! Also, if you are appealing, you have to pay, and will be reimbursed if successful. I spoke to a secretary there this morning and told I simply didnt have the money. She says the charge will increase by £20 per week. One of their director(s) has just called me and claims I may have a good case, but still have to pay with the appeal. When I asked him why its 7 days and why one has to pay while appealing, he said thats how all private comapnies deal! And my case will go to County Court if I dont pay up! Should I take these guys that seriously? Thanks0

Don't take them seriously. Just ignore. You don't owe them a penny. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

What a shame you didn't ignore them, they have your phone number to harass you with now. You should have Googled them or private parking ticket' first!
Don't pay the scammers though, not in a million years, there's no harm done but they might harass you more now they know you are vulnerable and you actually thought the ticket was real. Many PPCs use the sharp practice of insisting on payment with appeal, which is against their industry's code of practice. Not that it means anything as that CoP isn't enforced by anyone and PPCs can make up their own rules it seems, even copying the style of Council and Police parking tickets. Doesn't mean you should fall for it though!
This is NOT a fine or penalty, it's a demand for money which is unwarranted so just ignore the fake ticket and their debt collector letters which will follow. Do some reading of other threads on the forum (link given to the whole board a few posts back) we have nearly all been there done that, ignored the scary letters. Mine arrived last year around the time my Mum died - but they actually made me laugh at their desperation as I already knew it was a con and had read the thread with the example debt collector letters on it.
If they harass you report them:

Did you not see Watchdog yesterday as you were out? They covered PPC scams fairly well except at the end when they wussed out of saying 'don't pay' this time, probably because parking geek Patrick Troy was on the show. Watch it on iplayer and read our threads on PPC tickets on the forum board link, you'll learn all about the scam. You'll find our link to the youtube clip of last time Watchdog covered PPC bogus tickets in May, when the legal guy Tim Cary showed how to make such rubbish into a paper aeroplane.
Nothing will happen to you or your car or your credit rating.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
