Coupon-mad wrote: »1. Re the most recent ticket, all you have to do is ignore it as per all the other threads & advice on this board! It's a scam, it's just a mickey-mouse ticket.
2. Re the ticket you paid, you could take the parking company and Managing Agent to Court to get the money back, as per the Susan Pratt case:
Susan Pratt case (she paid a fake PCN then claimed it back in Court)
So it's up to you, the most recent ticket is easy to ignore, but the Court case to get your money back for when you fell for their scam will take more effort but can be done.
The PPC won't take YOU to Court, their letters will pretend they will - but it won't happen.
Brilliant example in that link!
Ignore and ignore some more,, its all about push and the fear factor.
Ime refusing to pay one on protest of the system used being flawed in a big way.
And I have no fear of court at all!
Put quite simply by a friend who knows a bit about contract law "it has to be fair" and like mentioned in the link, there has to be some kinda loss to really enforce it.0 -

Ok need help! Was having a night out with friends and I was the designated driver, drove to a nearby town and parked car in nearest car park where lots of people were parked and where I had parked previously but had no trouble. That was last tuesday, now(thursday 9 days after) I recieve a "Civil parking charge notice" from "Athena ANPR ltd registered in England: 05678510" It states that I overstayed my welcome at a Lidl car park, and instead of their limit of 1hour 30 mins, I was there 1 Hour 48 mins...Although it states I got there at 00.41 and left at 2.30am. It was pitch black and I saw no signs whatsoever to mention about the limit!
I just want advice on whether to Ignore or to write to appeal or what?! My dad is registered owner, I am named driver, it was sent to him!0 -

Google 'private parking scam' and look for forum posts on here, pepipoo.com, consumer action group, all of which will tell you that such private parking tickets are unenforceable trash, whether or not you've appealed already (if not, don't bother. Waste of a stamp because guess what the answer will be?!).
Watchdog covered this a couple of months ago, and their legal bod helpfully confirmed just what we tell everyone to do with fake parking tickets (whether they have pretty pictures of your car or not):http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAIcdi9niHA
:T:rotfl:
The registered keeper will receive a few debt collector letters telling you to pay, but so what once you know they are just bog roll! Tell your Dad not to panic, do not believe the lies on the letters about Court/CCJs/dire consequences! Debt Collectors have no powers at all, and bailiffs can only be appointed by a Court (if you lost a Court case and then you still refused to pay - can you see that actually happening?).
They cannot just 'apply for' a CCJ, that's not how things work at all.
See examples here of what sort of letters to ignore and be prepared for. Don't bother to actually read their threats when you get the matching threats, instead look at them now so you are ready to laugh when you get the whole predictable set:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/....php?t=2214803
To be proactive, if the scam letters get tiresome you may like to also report the company and their debt collectors for harassment:
http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/en...=03_harassment
But don't forget this is NOT a debt, NOT a fine, just a mickey mouse ticket. Tell your Dad.
Nothing happens, your credit record is NOT affected, so don't fall for this con.
Be angry about their illegal scary letters, tell your friends never to pay a private parking ticket, even if they have broken the car park's spurious 'rules'.
But don't pay it! Spread the word. This ticket is a scam and the letters must be ignored.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Got my first call from Graham White, they wouldn't talk to me as the ''ticket'' was issued to my oh, told her he was to ill with all the stress to talk to them, she then asked if we were going to pay it all today, she was told not to be so ridiculous of course were not and that our lawyer will be in touch soon, don't know why but she hung up on me just as I was saying I was looking forward to her next call. Am I right in thinking that she was calling from a call centre as there was an awful lot of noise going on in the background.

Call centre is too grand a name for it. More likely a room at home with the kids home on holiday, either that or someone had just paid and there was a lot of Hi-Fiving going on. (Could even be a tape of a crowd just to make it seem busy)I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Yep, it's just the powerless Call Centre at Roxburghe Debt Collectors.:p
Alexis on pepipoo got some insider knowledge recently on how they carry out their scary-letters scam. See here, read how they pass themselves off as Graham White (GW):
http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=52809
Next time they ring, ask if they are pretending to be GW today or are they ringing as Roxburghe this time? Refer to Graham White as 'GW' deliberately and listen to their shock, LOL! :rotfl:PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi All, a newbie here, I just got a parking ticket issued by Central Ticketing , Birmingham, for parking in a disabled bay,at Deepdale, Preston, I am disabled, my car is a Motabilty car and it says so on the tax disc. My badge unfortunately was out of date due to a house move, the new one has not yet arrived, they are demanding the usual £60.00 with threats of excess if not paid. do i ignore this ticket as many users on here seem to suggest? any info would be greatly appreciated
Have now received a number of requestsfrom central ticketing for payment, the last from Roxburgh debt collectors, I have up to now ignored all requests for payment and have not contacted Central ticketing or Roxburgh, but have contacted the store manager of M&S at Deepdale, Preston, he is of the opinion he can get it overturned, I will post further details as the case progresses.0 -

Actually there is no "case to overturn". It's a totally worthless demand for money that can be ignored.
You would have been better telling that M&S manager to try and get the PPC kicked off the land. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
