If I offend with this then quite frankly I really don't much care.

crabman, from what I can see, does a good job as board guide here. When it comes to moderation - there is none and crabman is not responsible.

When people continue to post in this 'discussion' thread, which originally had a topic, (and the other one) how can they be entertained? It isn't rocket science to figure out where to post and to not realise that an existing thread does not relate to you is , quite frankly, selfish.

Moreover, why do members continue to respond to these miss-posts???
    ---

IMO, it isn't a 'storyboard'. If you want help, post properly.
  • Hi all, I am new but so glad I found these threads about BPA....I suspected they were a load of old carp when the letter arrived. My mum got the letter, she is a full time carer for my disabled dad...she flapped and panicked and said she'd pay the fine...it's disgraceful that they threaten the vulnerable like this.

I am ignoring the letters and writing to the DVLA and my MP on my mum's behalf. These clowns have no legal power so I won't let them intimidate anyone.

    Thanks all! :)

my wife at the weekend recieved a parking ticket from a company called Carpark Management uk LTD (CPM). The carpark in question is not in use as the building (formally a bowling alley) has shut down. the parking ticket recieved claims that it has been issued for not displaying a valid CPM Permit. there are signs up within the car park but as it is derelict and the owner of the shop we were visiting informed us that it was ok to park on there because of this reason we did so.
now do i appeal to this fine?
await some correspondence from this company?
    or just completely ignore?

    some one please advise.

    thanks in advance

    dave.

now then after taking advice from this forum back in june i have now recieved (at the begining of sept) a letter from a debt collection agency claiming that i have to pay the amount plus a late payment cost within 7 days of a court summons would be issued.

again should i pay or await the summons and go to court.
i have had no previous corrispondance from the company who issued the ticket in the first place and then 3 months later i get a letter from debt collection.

    someone please advise.

    thanks you.

again after taking advise from this site i recieved a further letter today which states the following:

You were written to by CAR PARK MANAGEMENT UK and their agent Roxburghe requesting the settlement of a Parking Contravention Charge Notice. Due to the absence of payment, or a valid appeal, our client has instructed us to proceed to legal action to recover the amount due.
Therefore, it is a legal requirement to send a notice of INTENDED LITIGATION before legal procedings are issued in the county court. This letter fulfils this requirement.
Take Note ; the costs of issuing a claim is as follows:
    Amount due £135
    Claim Issue Fee £30
Solicitors costs for issuing claim £50
    Judgement costs £25
    Warrant issue fee £35
Solicitors costs for issuing warrant £2.25
    Total additional costs £142.25

Any judgement registered againts you could seriously affect your chances of obtaining credit in the future, as this infomation can be made available to any interested parties via the register of judgements, ordrs and fines, and reamins there for 6 years.
in the event of a judgement order not being adhered to, we may instruct bailiffs to attend at yor address who are authorised to sieze good for sale at public auction in the amount claimedplus all statutory interest.
please contact us with your proposals for settlement within 7 day to avoid the possibility of this action.

    your sincerely.

    michael sobell
    solicitor.

my wife is now panicing with this letter thinking that she has to go to court at some point.

    any advice would be appriciated.

do i just pay this company or contact the solicitor?

    thanks.

They say "Ignorance is Bliss" so this is the recommended course of action. There are numerous posts where people heve done so and they give up after a few letters and empty threats.

Hi, I received a £60.00 fine today for overstaying in a private car park by twelve minutes. I was captured on cctv and received the fine through the post although no actual ticket was placed on the car at the time. Again the sneeky individuals running the company obtained my details from the dvla...Any point in trying not to pay??? the ticket says if i dont pay within 14 days the fine will increase to £100.00!!!

Hi Vicky, the same happened too me in my partners car did they ever go any further??

Welshie Girl. Just who was captured on ccd? As far as I know all they can see is a car with a driver, just who that is is not clear enough to tell.

  • Hi! I parked my car on the road - not on double yellows, no sign, no nothing - and recieved a ticket, as did the rest of the street (about 30 other cars)
I appealed against it and have just got my court date (arrghh!!)
The PCSO who issued me with the ticket said in his statement that he gave them out for 'unecassary obstruction' as HGV and buses couldnt fit through and had to bump up on one of those central pavement things what are used for crossing.
I dont understand why he is able to issue the ticket in the first place if there are no signs saying that we cant park there?
Also in his statement, he said all cars had all 4 wheels on the road - i didnt i was on the pavement too, but could they then swing it the other way and say i shouldnt be on the pavement anyway?!
Help please!! SO nervous about going to court as i dont understand what i have done wrong or why they are able to dish out tickets willynilly!
