Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help??
This morning I have received a PARKING CHARGE NOTICE from CP plus limited, saying that I overstayed my free 2 hours in Toddington Services. In all honestly I had just done a night shift and was falling asleep at the wheel so pulled in for a rest and a coffee, however I fell asleep- waking up 3 and a half hours later!!! I didnt notice that their was signs - although maybe I didnt look properly as I was half asleep! even so it was a total mistake I hadn't intended to fall asleep for that long, I just didnt want to have an accident! On the PCN notice it says that after 2 hours their is a fee of £8 for the next 24hrs, I am prepared to pay that as it is my mistake and I hadnt realised that I needed to pay to use the services - I rather naively thought they were free!!! However they want me to pay £80 within 28 days or it will go up to £120!!! Is there anyway I can get out of paying that much???0 -
Search on here and pepipoo.com for cp. plus and you will see that you are safe to ignore them. Don't contact, phone, appeal, pay. file all papers in a drawer, you'll get 4-6 various letters each getting more threatening than the last. All are empty threats. In the very unlikely event of them sending papers which purport to be court papers come back to check. We don't expect to hear from you though.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Just ignore. This is an unenforceable invoice. Please read the other threads on here about private parking charges.
This is just outrageous. On the one hand you have the authorities telling drivers to take a rest if they feel tired, and then you have these parasites penalising people when they take that advice. Would they rather these people drive on and cause an accident? And you wonder why we hold these private parking companies in low esteem. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
This from the CP Plus website.:-
When it comes to parking enforcement issues, we emphasise the positive. We prefer to work through encouragement and prevention, identifying parking abusers and persuading them through a range of strategies not to re-offend, rather than primarily focusing on punishment and penalties.

Yes, there is...................................ignore, then ignore, then ignore a bit more. Finally ignore.
If the above suggestion doesn't work, then take two Ignore pills and wait until your headache goes away.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0 -

I've re written their mission statement! THIS is more like it! -
When it comes to parking enforcement issues, we emphasise the negative. We prefer to work through bullying and scare tactics, identifying innocent victims, preferably the most vulnerable ones, and persuading them through a range of scary looking letters to send us all their money. We are primarily focusing on punishment and penalties even though we have no legal right to enforce them. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Lets face it, unless they can scare penalties out of you they would go out of business. Shame to let them survive, lets put them out of their misery.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
