You said antifreeze?! I thought you'd stuck Bluecol stuff in a new VW?! :rotfl:

The Halfrauds washer flluid will block the fan jets on yours eventually, so i'd pop into your friendly VW dealer and get the pukka stuff ;)

Not all are the same, Im talking about modern VW/Audi's that have a specifically thin jet to 'fan' the water across the screen. Im sure other modern vehicles have similar systems

I know the jet spray you mean - my vw polo used to do it. It never blocked up but i couldn't say which type of screenwash i used in it.
My BMW sprays in 2 defined lines from each jet so it's not a spray like the VW so i presume less likely to get blocked.

another reason not to buy a new VW then?

brand new transit with 2.5 litres of tescos finest concentrated screen wash. working fine.

i think the ops problem was that the washer jets were frozen not that they were blocked.
ive tried the super screenwash that supposed to be good down to -40 but it just doesnt work.
so im happy with 2.5 litres for £1.30 from tesco,it freezes up just the same as all the others.

a good idea is to keep a squirty bottle in the car with a screenwash and water mix and just squirt it on the windscreen when stopped at traffic lights or junctions. better than not seeing at all.
    ...work permit granted!

Mixing some meths in with the screenwash will prevent it from freezing.

Ah ha, I could be making progress here, any idea where I can get some from? I never used it before so no idea.
