  • They were going to sell the entire thing for a pound last week, so if they sold all items for £1 each they would be quids in :-)

Are you sure the real story that was originally told is how Woolworths was up for sale for £1, not "everything *IN* woolworths £1"!
You know what chinese whispers are like!

Really can't see any store selling their entire stock at £1 each, even in administration.

today i bought 5 cordless phoness for a £1 each, some of them rrp £29.99(bt freestyle).

    Hi
Were the phones marked £1 or were they reduced at the till?
    TIA

Yes, but it's not everything, just things that were going to be reduced to £1 as part of the Xmas clear out anyway.

It was everything in the store! I got mountains of things, including electronics.

I hope that comment was tongue in cheek, despite the lack of a smiley indicating that it was - if you buy something like Woolworths, you take on their debts as well as their assets, and the stock may well be worth less than the debts. That's usually why it would be given a nominal value, like £1. :D
Thanks to all who post constructively.

Wow what a bargain, need a new house phone, which store did you go to?
  • I was in two different woolies today, but none of the electrcal items ie, xbox, nintendo wii, ps3, tv's or any of the games & dvd's were reduced.

I was also told by the staff that these items would remain the full price.

Only selected items were on sale with some discount.
You can't be lost if you don't know where you're going.
