So the follow up to the targets thing. Besides setting a new target what do you do when you reach one? Do you treat yourself to something nice? Or do you just carry on?

Kiwichick, there are a few online BMI calculators if you google them. Its just a case of putting your height and your weight in and it does the rest for you. Hope that helps.
http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/ Just used this one and found out I have brought my BMI down from 61.4 to 59! WOOHOO!!0 -
Thanks for the link ispartacus75 I've used both this one (BMI 38.2) and the NHS one (BMI 39.2). I have a whole load to loose before I manage to get down to being "overweight" rather than "obese" (or is that morbidly obese?).WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0

Hi all, well done to all the losers and those who have STS.
I got my pedometer from Lloyds pharmacy - £3.99 - but reliable? Hmm not convinced as when I tipped it up to check how much I'd done, it flipped from 600 steps ish to over 10,000 :rotfl: But seems to have been ok since that fit!
Only actually made the 10k steps once so far - it's actually more than I thought - even with a 3 mile walk included - or perhaps I sit on my butt during the day more than I thought
Not too well today. Had a day off work yesterday but spent it ill in bed after being very sick all night. Waste of a day off
Anyway start again today - I have 5 lbs to lose to get back to goal weight - even after being ill
Food today has been:
b: banana (didn't want anything at all though)
l: HM leek and potato soup and a roll
d: HM chilli in wraps
Snacks have been frozen black cherries.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Hi All,
Just back from my apt with the dietician, went suprisingly well, though she was wide eyed with shock at the amount of bread and cheese I eat
I have a meal plan now to follow for a month, I wont post it for fear of breaking rules in terms of advocating outside groups etc but if anyone is interested I am happy to PM.
In terms of food choice its very much suited to OS. As I am vege (no fish or poultry either) it relies heavily on lentils, beans, barley, couscous, rice etc. Soups which I make in SC are featured also. The only bit I cant get my head around is that I am only allowed 3 x 30gm of cheese each week and am having to have scrambled egg whites _pale_ for brekkie. Am thinking that eggs without yolks mean flavourless eggs.
I am going to try and mealplan with the allowed foods and quantities this evening when the children are in bed. Never done that before but really do feel it will help me out with this. Hopefully it will also give me an insight into how much I waste each week in unnecessary food purchases.
I was a bit disspointed when she said I wasnt allowed to aim for a certain weight loss this month but I will still weight once a week and will keep a food diary so I can see formyself where it is helping.

Hi kiwichick
As a fellow veggie would be very interested in your plan, I'm sure I eat far too much cheese. Were you given any suggested meals for the lentils, beans etc? I don't think I could eat scrambled egg whites though. Keen to know how you get on.WL 11 st 5lb as at 050109. 160209 11st 2lb

Hiya,
No I wasnt given any ideas for recipies at all sadly. I was told how much constitutes a portion as my big problem is portion control and learning to recognise when I am full. My history of bulimia has tricked my body into storing food every time I eat as its scared of the next "starvation" phase and I dont recognise any feeling of fullness or satisfaction from food. This will be a HUGE learning curve for me as shes said a portion of pasta/rice/lentils etc is 30gm dry weight. I would normally have 5 times that amountAs for cheese, I can eat lumps of lovely mature cheddar but am now only allowed 30gm (roughly matchbox size) 3 times a week, so a total of 90gm a week!!!!!!!
I will be spending some time tonight trying to sort a meal plan and will either post here (if allowed) or on the meal plan thread in OS.

Kiwickick - I too would be interested in your plan - I'm a partial veggie - I still eat fish but not meat/poultry.Do what you love :happyhear0

Can you point me in the direction of a reliable online BMI calculator please?? I've decided that given my history with bulima it is a much healthier choice for me to use a BMI goal as a target rather than a weight goal.
here you go http://www.nhs.uk/Tools/Pages/Healthyweightcalculator.aspx?!!!!!Weight loss to date - 8st 13lbs :j0 -

Morning everyone! The sun shone here for about 5 minutes this morning - it was quite exciting:j, but then it went all grey again
.
Here is my plan for the day:
Breakfast - egg, bacon and tomatoes, chinese pear and a yogurt (all free:D)
Lunch - HM vegetable soup with scan brans topped with 1 tblsp peanut butter and sliced banana (free + heb + 4.5 syns)
Dinner - SW recipe beefburger on wholemeal roll with SW chips with spicy salsa dip (heb + 6 syns + free + 2 syns) followed by fresh raspberries and yogurt (free and I got the raspberries reduced last night for 40p!)
Milk in drinks through the day will be my hea. This is a total of 12.5 syns for the day.
Love
