Welcome Whiteviolet, and thanks for the post frogga. I've been bingeing so long it almost feels normal. :( Anxiety is the main trigger for me I think. Consequently today hasn't been too good as I feel a bit emotional about the meningitis scare and am still worried about DD a bit. Had a pack of m&ms, pack of buttons and 2 weightwatchers cake bars. And that was exercising a bit of self control. Could have gone on and on really.

Tomorrow I want to tackle a lot of tidying up and take DD to docs just for a check before the weekend so planning to keep busy to take my mind off food!

Today was a mixed day. I was planning on walking to a neighbouring town but my back is giving me gip, so I walked part way and took the bus the rest of the way. So I clocked up 4 miles instead of 10.
    Today I had:

    B. Muesli and semi-skimmed milk
    L. Egg and mayonnaise sandwich and an orange and a kiwi fruit.
    S. Left over risotto (I was starving)
    T. 2 barely edible, overcooked Quorn fillets, chips and peas.
    S. Peaches and custard.

I did very well until 3pm when the hunger set in. Oh well tomorrow is another day.

Hi all, can I join (again :o) I just can't seem to stick with a diet, and getting more fed up by the day.

I'm hoping to get out on my bike, in-between cleaning and general housework, I'd like to start cycling into work, to save money on commuting. Need to build up my fitness a bit first though, as there are no showers at work.

    Todays menu will be:

    Brekky: porridge

Lunch: not sure, probably a baked potato or salad with prawns (have a rare day off work so spoiling myself)

Dinner: vegetable soup in the slow cooker, with h/m rolls.

  • Good Morning ALL :-)

JoJoB , I hope you have been reassured that your DD is fit and well now.

Apologies for having hi-jacked the thread with talk of binging - but I feel so much better for admitting I have a problem.

Hello Jay good luck in your fitness quest.

Completely Lost - ryvita rocks, I love it spread with low fat cheese from Lidl - the fitness yoghurt one. I find having snacks which contain slow release carbs, like ryvita plus some low fat protein like low fat cheese or yoghurt works well as hunger killing snacks. If I have fruit on its own it can start me off on a scoff.

Rachel - how did you hurt your back?

    Plan for 22.01.10:

    Oats
    Natural yoghurt with dates
    HM lentil soup
    More yoghurt
New TVP and veggie stir fry recipe to try out.

    morning!

completelylost - things I like to put on the crispbreads are

    philladelphia light and cucmber/tomatoes
various chutneys/pickles and some lo lo cheese or low fat red leicester cheese
you could also have a bit of jam or banana if you need something sweet.
really you can put absolutely anything on them:)

well done on cutting down the crisps:T

Yesterday I went shopping and bought some of the Basa fillets that have been mentioned here. They are in a salt and cracked pepper batter. I'm going to try one for tea but not sure what with yet.

B - 1 small toast and marmalade. 1 weetabix with pumpkin seeds and raisins and skimmed milk

L - jacket spud with leeks and broccoli in a cheese sauce

    D - basa fillet and something:think:

    the usual fruit and yoghurt.

hope you all have a good weekend x

Hi not sure how far your work is, but could you drive the car part way to work with the bike in it and then cycle to work and back to car until you are a bit fitter?

Could I join, please? I want to lose about 3 stones (my weight has crept up over 20 years so i don't know what a good weight for me is now). I have tried various diet plans but they don't help me changed from processed foods to real foods which is my aim.
I have started by having breakfast every day (porridge with semi-skimmed milk and some blueberries or similar). This is great as i no longer feel the need for a stodge snack mid-morning.
My big downfall is when i get in from work, before i start to cook. I need something quick and not too filling - does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Morning all! It's finally Friday, woohoo :j

Taplady - I hope you enjoy the Basa tonight! I have mine with a wedge of lemon, new potatoes and big pile of steamed veg, but I suppose anything goes!

Yesterday was a good day for me; I managed to avoid all snacks and went to the gym for an hour after work despite feeling really lethargic. Hoping for a repeat performance today and aiming to make it 5 nights in a row at the gym. Not a routine I can see myself sticking to every week by ANY means, but I might as well go while I've got the motivation. This weekend OH and I are going to a Burns Night supper too (not exactly diet food then!) so the more cals I can burn before that the better! Today's plan is:

B: Porridge made with water, half banana, spoonful strawb jam stirred through
L: Light cream cheese pitta stuffed with cherry toms + spinach, mullerlight yog, 2 x plums
    Snack: Apple
D: Still undecided but either tuna or prawns with pasta and veg
    Snack: Pot of sugar-free jelly

Exercise: 20min walk on lunchbreak (if the stupid rain stops) and 1hr cardio workout at gym after work.

Hope everyone has a good day :)
