Morning all !
Was feeling good after having 3 decent days eating on the trot so braved a mid-week weigh in. Pleased to report 3lb!!!! off! That makes half a stone in 10 days - a bit more than you're supposed to healthily lose I'm sure but I've eaten between 1500-1800 cals every day so not in starvation mode or anything. Just shows how much I was putting away over christmas I suppose.
And that's with no proper exercise yet so I should be able to keep up the momentum if I get on the case with that. 13st 2lb now - would be such a psychological boost to get in the 12s next week. *fingers crossed*
Plan today:
Breakfast: 1/4 of cheese on toast and a banana (130)
Lunch: Not sure - going to child's birthday party so probably a few naughty nibbles
Dinner: mushroom frittata and salad
snacks: hot choc
Edit: Basa fillet was yum! A white fish, but more delicate than cod. The one we had was Youngs, in a lemon and herb tempura batter which was lovely and crispy and lemony. Highly recommend!2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0 -
morning!
JoJoB - well done on a great loss:T and thanks for the recommendation on the basa fish, will keep my eye out for some when I go shopping next:T
am supposed to be doing an 11 hour shift today but its snowing heavily here so not sure if I'll make it yet.
I'd got my food planned so will hopefully still stick to it.
B - scrambled eggs on toast
L - soups and crackerbreads
D - quorn cottage pie and few rustic chips, peas
banana, grapes and yoghurt for snacks as and when required.
Got no cake or 'naughties' left now so should find it a little easier not to stray!
have a good day all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Well done JoJoB!!!
I gained 1lb at weigh-in last night which I'm a bit annoyed about as I tried really hard this past week. Suppose it's a carry over from a badish week the week before. Onwards though....
Today:
Breakfast - low fat yogurt
Lunch - HM Chicken Soup, HM Bran Muffin
Dinner - HM ragu (rapid ragu recipe from Nigella's Express)0 -
Congrats on the the loss, JoJoB! I'm still not weighing myself regularly, but that's the kind of weekly loss I could only dream about!
I also highly recommend trying Basa for anyone who likes tasty white fish. I also had the Youngs ones, except these were coated in lemon and pepper breadcrumbs rather than batter. I think one of the fillets was about 250cals and they're quite large
Worryingly for some reason today I am absolutely craving cakes, sweets and chocolatesIt's not TOTM or anything, but I just cant stop thinking about eating lots of naughty things. I'm on my 4th cup of green tea already, trying so hard to dampen the cravings but it doesn't seem to be working. I have an apple in my drawer which I usually try to save for my mid-afternoon snack but I may have to give in and have that this morning instead. I had a substantial breakfast this morning so I don't know what's going on
Hopefully today's plan will be this...
B: Half tin of reduced sugar baked beans, 1 slice brown toast
L: Not sure yet, forgot my sarnies this morning so going to have to find something in Tesco - not a pre-packed sandwich though, yuk! Will also have a muller light yog and 2 x plums
Snack: AppleMixed bean veggie chilli with a HM flatbread for dipping
Evening snack: Small pot low sugar jelly
Exercise: 45mins cardio at the gym (bike, cross trainer) and 15mins weights
I'm feeling very wobbly today, if someone so much as mentions cake I feel like I won't be able to stop myself running to the shop and buying a trolley-full, so I'm going to use all my will power to tread carefully and just take today hour-by-hourHope everyone else is having a better day than me!

Just popping in here, instead of lurking, for a pointer in the right direction if you could be so kind
;)
I've been told by my doctor that I need to loose about 4stone in weight, which I already knew, but I'm trying to do it by cutting back my portion sizes and therefore not denying myself anything (like I've done in the past and failed miserably). In theory my diet appears to be fairly healthy with wholemeal bread, plenty of fruit, veg, water, lower fat options where possible BUT I crave carbs and cheese a lot and end up stuffing myself with them
I'm 31 tomorrow, and fully intend to enjoy the rest of this week (I also have an engagement party to go to on SaturdayThe wedding is in December ) before seriously making an effort from Monday. I've given up alcohol, and I'm using wiifit+ to try and increase my daily exercise already (but not using it ATM as I've hurt my back). However I would really like to be able to keep a food diary to see where I am going wrong with portion sizes or wrong amounts of "bad" food (like too much saturated fat etc). Can someone point me in the right direction for a free and trustworthy website (or iphone application:rotfl: ) that I could use so while I'm out and about or at my voluntary job so I can record those chocolate biscuits/cadburys heroes which sometimes jump into my mouth and I often forget about:o
I was considering following a wartime ration based diet, but since I also have to feed my DD (nearly 9, somewhat fussy but can eat like a teenage lad already - I swear she has hollow legs but never seems to put any weight on! ) its not going to be possible to do on my small grocery allowance. However DD is fully behind me in this except for loosing her cuddly mummy :rotfl:
Any tips will also be gratefully received. Every time I succeed in loosing some weight, life throws a curveball and I fall back into my unhealthy ways of pigging out on pasta, cheese & takeaways with the occasional bottle of wine!
Thank you....Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Good morning all, though is feels like afternoon to me as my eyes shot open - bing - at 6am. Nice and quiet in the house so had a leasurely bath and hair wash and realised a few things about when I eat for Britain:
- I can't get up in the morning
- I fall asleep watching TV (I actually stayed awake to watch Iain Stewart's documentary on BBC2 at 9pm last night, would normally nod off and kick myself)
- I don't really bother with my appearence and don't wear makeup
- I don't bother with jewelry
- I wear drab clothing
- My heals hurt
- Keep putting things off till tomorrow
- Food doesn't taste as good
- I can't be bothered cooking so grab the easiest thing to prepare
- No interest in socialising
I'm bowing down in admiration at your loss JoJoB, fantastic :T. I'm hoping to be back in the 13st's by the end of the month, was 14st 3lbs on 1st Jan but carried on eating till a I rejoined here so no idea what I was then.
Miss Cupcake I feel your struggle! You can do it, we're here for you and watching!!
I think we also will try the Basa fish, it sounds really good.
Todays menu will be
Porridge and prunes with fruit juice
Scrambled egg on toast with grilled tomato. Pud 2 plums and custard.
Pear for snack
Jacket potato, salad and one of the vegi 'thingies' lurking in the freezer.
Hope you all have a good day and don't get snowed in - just dark and dank there."It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. Just seen your post nicki and welcome, also happy birthday for tomorrow :T. I'm sure someone will know good places to look for website, some have been mentioned but I've forgotten
.
A dieting diary is a very good idea as we often don't realise how much of those little bits and pieces we get through."It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. Thats my problem - working in school when its someones birthday people often bring in cake or chocolates or biscuits then leave them on the tables in the staffroom. No matter how good I'm trying to be, when faced with a salad sandwich and cup-a-soup for lunch the temptation can sometimes be too much and I give in and have something. I've even been known to take a healthy lunch and end up going to the chippy or Sayers (bakers, like Greggs) and getting something not so healthy as thats what I'm craving, then its downhill all the way into bad eating againCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0

Help
having horrid time with the eating (and the depression - there, I said it out loud). came on here to get back on the wagon (AGAIN!) and read the below...... Thanks JoJoB - really made me laugh, am sitting giggling in the office, luckily colleagues who share office not in, else would probably get sectioned......
Have a funeral to go to tomorrow, so fresh start Friday I think.
am bending over for big kick up big bum please....
Bit of a mishap myself yesterday - OH rang me at 10am to say he was getting train home from victoria, then his battery ran out. 5 hours later he still wasn't home so I thought he was dead. Thought there was a vague possibility he had stopped off in a pub to watch the footy, but he wouldn't make me worry like that surely, so must be dead. So had an extra bowl of chilli and half a pack of choccie biscuits.
Naturally he wasn't dead and tripped through the door approximately 15 mins after Full Time. I had a nice 10 mins thinking about life insurance though.2018 AFD 23/240
