I made some coleslaw up on Sunday and as I used up the new jar of mayo then found the last of the salad cream today - I idley compared the calories of the two and  EEKK!! I ate 200 calories more than I thought yesterday!!

Mayo has 750 cals per 100g
Salad Cream has 350 cals per 100g

I'm horrified I never realised the difference was so vast - And didn't realise how calorie ladened each was - light options for me next time I buy!

Yesterday was ok - substituted stir fry for the fish dinner as there were reduced veg in the supermarket. So might finally get round to eating fish tonight!

Today has been good apart from no fruit or veg yet.

Breakfast: 1 weetabix with skimmed milk and half a teaspoon of sugar (130)

Lunch: 2 slices of low-low cheese on granary bread with branston pickle and scraping of flora (400) options hot choc with extra skim milk (70)

Dinner: bassa fillets in lemon and herb batter with mixed veg and 200g of potato wedges and tartare (600)

Will have an apple and banana and couple of mouthfuls of sweetcorn to get the 5 a day in.

Thanks for the tip about low-low cheese ladies, it's very nice!

  • I started the week on a good note yesterday and managed to stick exactly to plan (minus one wee quality street choc in the evening, but that doesnt count!) so here's hoping today is the same. So far, so good, it's just the evil evening munchies I need to watch out for!

B: Porridge made with water, spoonful of low sugar strawberry jam on top
L: Light cream cheese sandwhich on HM brown bread, muller light yog, 2 plums
Snack: Apple (Braeburn, mmm my favourite!)
D: Grilled salmon with chilli/lemon glaze, new potatoes, broccoli, sweetcorn
Evening snack: Small pot of sugar free jelly

Exercise: 30mins cycling and 30mins light weights at the gym

I've seen a few people mention Basa fillets as part of their meal plans, I absolutely love it! Haven't bought any for a while because it always seems quite expensive, but such a nice way to eat fish and lovely with a squeeze of lemon and lots of steamed veg...mmm :p I'm adding it to this weekend's shopping list!

Too much bread today but given that I started baulking when OH made his porridge I decided it wasn't wise to test my gag reflex!

    B: 2 wholemeal toast & Hm marmalade

L: Small tin of beans on granary toast

D: HM scouse with a small crusty cob and HM beetroot

    S: Options hot choc

Hoping I manage to keep it together this week, I keep thinking about scones! :D

Mmmmm some lovely sounding fodder being served up on here :D. Taplady there is nooooooooooo way I could have resisted that banana loaf of yours.
Just sat down having cut the grass and need a break before starting tea. Sounds crackers I know but the lawn mower picks up all the hedge and tree leaves which were everywhere and it does look so much better for it. Managed to see a neighbour and recover Pupkin's (dog) ball which DH sent over the hedge at the weekends. Little boys never grow up do they !
Anyway the munchies are still at bay and we had the stir fry yesterday which was lovely. Shopping today I bought packs of value apples and pears, one of which I plan to munch while watching Alan Titchmarsh in a minute. That and a cuppa, heaven.
Breakfast was porridge and prunes with fruit juice.
Lunch was soup and home grown 2 plums and custard. (I made a pint and split it in seven and froze the rest for one a day. Trying to economise so yogurts are out .
Tea will be steak and home made wedgies with peas.

PS the brown banana's were rank so are now in the compost.

I too had lots of banana cake the past few days...mine all gone too!:D

Googled Basa - seems it is a kind of Vietnamese catfish...not heard/seen of it before

Not to bad a day, though went out for lunch with a friend - a scrummy baked potato. We avoided the hot chocolate with marshmallows & cream...as well as loads of scrummy-looking cakes!! So it could have been much worse!!

Must get more exercises done this evening before going to bed. At last settling into a routine with my exercises. I try to do them in the morning, but if that's not possible I am now managing to get them done in the evening before going to bed...should see a good loss this week...here's hoping!!

Home the next two days, need to make bread, muffins and hobnobs tomorrow, as well as marmalade...busy, busy....and (hopefully) no picking!

    Food today:

    B: Porridge with raisins, OJ
    S: muesli slice
D: Ate out: Baked Potato with bacon, mushrooms & cheese, with small salad
    S: banana
T: HM Rubber Chicken Fajitas (1.5 tortillas), tomatoes, cucumber & yoghurt
    S: nothing!

Right off to get the trainers on!

    See you tomorrow!
