    Hi all,

Glad I'm still here today, had one of those scary moments this morning when I was on my own in the house and accidentally inhaled some of my breakfast. The harder I coughed the further it went down so I had that sinking feeling my time was up! After a fraught few minutes it shot out of my nose so I'm here to tell the tale :)

B: 2 slices wholemeal toast (minus the nose piece)

    L: Leftover veggie lasagne

D: HM Chicken fajitas (lots of griddled peppers and onions in mine with only a little soured cream and guacamole)

S: Probably not much today, too busy ;)
  • floyd: i am SOOOO jealous of your sonisphere win! i so wanted to go :(

Well im new to this thread, i really need to do something about my weight. I need to lose about 3 stone in total really, and it needs to happen for good! my knees are starting to give me some issues and im only 25.

i am going to be using the paul mckenna principles, and just eating home cooked food again, no bought sandwiches for lunch cutting back on cheese, and generally reducing portion sizes!

    Today:

B: was out and couldnt be bothered to make do!
L: half tin of tuna, light mayo, salad sandwich with no butter
D: roast chicken, roast veg and potatoes, home made yorkie and sprouts

    lots of water, diet coke!

Right I'm inspired this week, finally shopped on Saturday night so the fridge and cupboards are restocked.

    Sunday:
B:2 saugages, mushrooms, beans and slice of bread
L: 1 piece of bread with cheese and beetroot
D: lamb roast (in a tin from tesco bargin at a £5) pots, carrots, parsnips, broccili. Had been near to having a pudding when I fell asleep on sofa due to 2 glasses of wine.

    Today:
    B: yougert & banana
L: left over lamb sandwich (have a breadmaker now so does that count as HM?)
S: small portion of leek & pot soup that needs using up
D: Stir fry - bought a pack and will have a chow mein sauce

My name is Floyd and I'm addicted to food.....it seems the binge demons are still there, they have just been silenced for a long time.

Got really hungry late yesterday afternoon but didn't have any healthy snacks in work and as I knew I was going home in an hour I didn't think there was any point in going out to buy anything. But, I started getting the shakes and feeling wobbly so I ate a packet of Christmas tree chocolates :( so the old guilt shame monster kicked in and I went to the vending machine and bought a bag of Monster Munch and a bag of Hula Hoops.
I will never understand why I continually feel the need to 'punish' myself with food, why couldn't I have 1 or 2 chocolates to stop the hypoglycemia enough to get me home to my lovely roast dinner, why did I feel the need to hide the evidence and lie to OH about why I didn't finish my dinner?

Forget it and move on, try to shut the door on the beastie once more :D

    B: Bagel with cream cheese

    L: Scouse

D: Wholemeal spaghetti zucchini with a big salad

S: A small skinny latte and fruit

    NO MORE CHOCCIES
  • recognising and closing that door so fast is the true sign of growth floyd! i too struggle with the binge monster and have only recently recognised it myself.

    Yesterday:

B: banana and home made bran muffin

    L: veggie soup

    S: mandarin

D: chicken and tomato pasta with mushrooms and courgettes, cauli and broc! with a little low sugar ice cream afterward :)

    Today:

B: slice of toast with organic PB and blue berry preserve

    S: banana

L: leftover spag bol, chicken left overs

D: either lasagne or pork chop with risotto

if someone would be so kind as to help me out with a recipe for a nice mushroom risotto?

    morning!

Floyd - hope you banish the monster! x

Prettypaula - I made mushroom risotto last night, its dead easy

I fried the mushrooms and onions in a little oil or frylight if your prefer until softened then add the risotto rice for a couple of minutes then put chicken stock in and leave to bubble away - stirring it often and topping up the liquid - it takes a lot of liquid as it evaporates.I find it takes about 20 mins until the rice is cooked properly.Season it and I sprinkle a little grated cheese on top of mine. Its one of my favourite dishes.

Got on the scales this morning and by some miracle they say I've lost a bit more - proper weigh in tomorrow.
    Food today

    B - boiled egg and toast(ww bread)

L - mushroom soup with ryvita thins(type of crispbread with seeds)

    D - quorn bolognaise

hope you all have a good day x
will also try and have some fruit and a yoghurt.
