Aargh! Our scales got new batteries this morning...and I have PUT BACK ON 4 POUNDS!!:eek:
I think the four pounds I thought I had lost the week before last were just a case of the batteries running low. Of course it has nothing to do with me eating chocolate and cakes the past fortnight!!!
So now I am going to stop eating all the silly fattening food (at least in the quantities I have been lately!) and get back to sensible and better eating habits. In my defence, this week I have done the first lot of shopping on my own in 2009 (lots of illnesses), and it felt sooo good just buying what I fancied...but no more, at least, not in such quantities!
The freezer is full to bursting as is the fridge...and most of it is healthy, honest! So better meal planning (been trying to finish a four week list all week!) and stronger will power, will help me get these pesky extra pounds off and then a few more before Christmas.
I am able to walk a bit more nowadays, so the dog will be going a bit further with me today, rain or no rain! I might try out the new pair of trekking poles I have, my dad swears by them. They will give me more stability when walking down the fields, much better than walking by the road.
Off now to get some crab-apples cooking for jelly making tomorrow.....I was going to make chutney with them too, but trying to core them will take AGES...!So jelly it is, think I will try adding ginger to one batch and rosemary to another...maybe even chillies to another...hope I have enough jars! These are mainly going to be Christmas presents...nearly done all mine this year (well, I have 3 more body-warmers to knit, but they only take a week each).
Have a good weekend everyone.

Hiya all,
I'm just after some advice really, i havn't read all of this so i apologise but..
I have a 7 year old son who is rather tubby, he has started to get a complex about this and has started to come home upset because he isn't very good at running and sports etc. We have had a big talk tonight about it and he has agreed to start a healthy eating plan with me (i refused to call it a diet for him cause i didnt want to upset him more) I've not weighed him, he asked me too but to be honest im a little reluctant because i dont want him thinking its all about him loosing weight. We had a big talk about how he needs to eat healthy so his body stays healthy and can work better etc. At the moment though, i really struggle to find clothes that fit him, his trousers are for a 11 year old and his tops for a 13...he is 7! Admittedly he does have a broad frame anyhow (i blame his rugby player dad lol) but he really is overweight.
Really im just after some advice on how to go about starting this. to be fair he does have sweets daily and they are just in the cupboard so he helps himself....but he also loves his fruit and veg. I've told him im going to put all the sweets away (still got loads from trick or treating!) and just let him have 1 after his dinner and if he feels hungry to have a pice of fruit instead. Im more struggling with what sort of food to change him onto (i have a 2 yar old that will be eating the same too, i dont want to make him different to everyone else cause i dont want him to feel like im punishing him or anything like that) He won't eat eggs, tuna, tomatoes, mushrooms, nuts, dried fruits inc. raisens currents etc, fish (except tuna) raw carrots and a whole host of other stuff....but he does love almost all fruit (bar kiwi) and veg. He also loves pasta, but likes it with cheese and tomato sauce on...no sauces. Drinks are another think, he loves his lemonade...which i also want to cut out as he gets real hyper and i dont think this helps!, but he doesnt like drinking just squash or water. he does like milkshakes, but i buy whole milk.....does it really make a huge difference, should i swop?? bearing in mine i have a 2 year old and am pregnant too, he also loves cups of tea and hot chocolates....i'm so confused with it all.
I have told him we will all be eating the same foods as when i've had my baby (im due at xmas) im going on a proper diet as im not exactely small myself so if we start eating healthy now it will really help me out aswell...... but now he is in bed and ive been thinking, i just dont know where to start with a meal plan
I'm sorry this has turned into an essay and i hope ive posted in the right place....if anyone has any advice they can offer i would really appreciate it.
thank you x0
