  • Hello!

I have been reading a few posts on here and would like to join in!

I have been dieting from Jan 09 until July 09 and lost 3 st 7 - just been cutting back on sweet stuff really and eating my normal meals but with more veg etc. I have had 7 weeks off work for summer so i haven't dieted at all but still been exercising (walking and swimming - both free) so I've maintained. As of today, I am back on my diet.

Is there a thread for weight loss recipes or do I have to look through the old posts for them?
  • hello , me too ! ,

ive been following this thread for a few days and would like to join in if thats ok ,
i had around 4st to lose but i have been calorie counting and excercising for about 10 weeks now and have lost 19lbs.
i tend to do really well through the week but struggle at weekends .
last night i had a bit of a biscuit fest and undid all the weeks good work , decided im not going to buy packets of bics anymore just gunna buy 2 individual kitkats or a bun each for kids supper .

Hi both and a very warm welcome. You have both done wonderfully well so far to lose so much weight and hopefully we can give you the support and encouragement you need to keep going :)

Seasideshack - there are odd recipes in the threads but if you are eating regular meals with more veg, the indexed collection will probably be most useful to you as there are sections for low fat/low carb/veggie or whatever type of recipe you are after. Just scroll down http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=8736367#post8736367

Feel free to request recipes from other peeps if you fancy something in particular or post your own if you have them to hand

Dizzydolly - I too used to find weekends difficult but I've found that if I allow myself something that I fancy but choose a healthier option I am satisfied and less likely to binge. For example, if I want a takeaway curry I will order a veg curry with boiled rice and share the rice with OH and have poppadoms. Alternatively I make my own with boiled rice and have half a naan with OH. If I want biscuits, OH will make the tea and ask me how many I want which makes me think about it first rather than sitting with the packet in front of me.

Hi all, welcome to all newcomers.

Well I have to say after a weekend with some wine, hm damson pie, hm banana caramel blondies, and hm bread - weight loss really isn't going to happen this week :p

My scales are still up the creek in any case - keep changing by about half a stone just by getting off and back on them again

Have borrowed a wii fit so may have a go tonight if I get a chance.

    Plan for today:

b: two slices hm wholemeal bread, toasted with damson jam
l: sarnie - hm bread with lettuce, low fat mayo, edam, pastrami and chicken slice ... erm and a small slice of damson pie :o
d: kippers and roast ratatouille with corn on the cob.

snacks - well it's monday so I gave in and had a large chocolate cookie :o

    Tomorrow must try harder :p

Hya folks, still not very busy here at the moment, good in a way so I don't have too many posted to catch up on.

    I had my first fortnightly
WI (a la Paul McK) yesterday, and I have only lost 1.5 pounds :o. It is not as much as I had hoped, but a loss is a loss I suppose. I am suffering from TOTM at the moment and I have been a bit "bunged up" for a few days as well, so they could both explain the slow weight loss. But I am going to be good and not revert to hopping on and off the scales every day to see if I have lost any more.

I will stick with this 90 days of Paul McKenna, following his book and completing his journal every day. I have also started a diary as well, (a turgid read at times!). I am at least questioning whether I am really hungry and what I want to eat whenever I feel peckish, as well as feeling fuller while eating less, so perhaps it is working after all!

Right now, off to start making a list of the freezer contents before lunch, DS1 is wanting an early lunch but I will wait until I feel hungry. So I will keep myself busy for a bit.

    So food for today:

    B: Porridge with raisins; OJ
    S: Nectarine
L: Tomato sandwich and some salad
S: Muesli bar - if I am hungry
T: Liver & Onions, mashed potatoes, carrots & sweetcorn
    S: SF jelly if hungry

    Off to update my signature

  • well i joined a while back and then lost my enthusiam some what I lost a pound here gained a pound here but am determined to lose 1/2 stone for my holiday in november.

I currently weigh 65kg and want to get back to 60kg, excercise is limited as have bad back but am starting an 8wk back care class on wed which works on core stability so should tone those tummy muscles.

My BMI is healthy at 22 as I am very tall but I just have those bulges where you dont want them.

so today what have I eaten

    breakfast- banana at 10am

small piece lemon cake at 11am (not planned but found out colleagues husband has terminal cancer so went for tea and cake with her)

lunch hm soup and some mini breads

dinner tonight is a 1/4 pounder oven baked organic burger, with roasted peppers, mushrooms, carrot, tomatoes and red onion, HM wedges and some boiled brocolli

pudding will be HM blackberry and apple crumble (the topping is made using light spread, flour, low sugar and some oats).

I am trying to drink at least 1.5-2L of water a day but do struggle so think this is where I need to improve.
  • Me too pleae, I'd like to hop on board, you have all inspired me.

I have been trying to diet now for .... well too long and really need to get focused especially as we are hoping to go to Cuba in November and I really want to be a bit thinner for the beach. I won't reach my goal by then but that is fine but 1 stone would be nice.

So for me it is ... exercise more. MUST do a little something each day. STOP snacking and eat more healthily.

I'll weigh myself tomorrow morning and report back - no doubt in tears LOL.

My target is either 10st 7lb or size 12 whatever comes 1st.

    xxx

    Hi guys,
Been really good for the last few days but tonight was not so good as I am away in Boston working for a week so OH treated me to a meal out to say bon-voyage :)

    B: Flapjack

L: Bulgur wheat tabouleh, 3 falafel and a tiny bit of feta

D: Very nice dinner although not the most healthy; watermelon, san daniele ham and feta with balsamic vinegar followed by butternut squash and gorgonzola ravioli with sage butter and a large glass of merlot.

No pudding though so quite pleased with that ;) it could have been alot worse

Good luck all, not sure how often I can get on while I'm away but I will do my best to be saintly
