Our office chairs are rather too comfy

It's in my sig ;) - I originally lost 30lbs (just over 2 stone - and it was 2 dress sizes) - lost it all gradually but without any actual diet clubs (other than this one ;)) - took about 8 months to get rid of - just some crept back up on me after a year of having lost it ;)

I wasn't huge but I wasn't at all happy with how I looked and I knew if I didn't do something about it, it would only get worse :o

Had pasta for dinner yesterday and made a muck of a very nice dish by oversalting the pasta water....have never done it before and was hopping mad...ate rather small portion, then had slice of weetabix cake with my cuppa afterwards.

Today I had a banana for breakfast
Lunch was a BLT (3 slices bread, 2 rashers)
Dinner will be ham, cabbage and mashed potatoes, followed by rhubarb and ice-cream...I know, I should just have the rhubarb, but....but....

Congratulations to newlywed on your loss, and to JoJo for your 16k steps...respect!

    Good luck everybody

Fortunately I was young when I had my first office job so I snacked on loads of crap and didn't put any weight on.... Oh to be young, fit and slim again :rotfl:

Ah yes, sorry I'm not totally ignorant :o I have actually read your sig several times :rotfl::o Wow, 30lbs! Thats great, well done :T Although I would ideally like to drop 2 dress sizes but is that really 30lbs  Maybe dieting just isn't for me :rotfl:

I don't like to be squished into my clothes but was refusing to buy the next size up.... so probably more like 2 and a half dress sizes :rotfl:

Well my weight loss included very little exercise - just a few irregular lunch time walks. I think if you toned up by using your muscles then you are much more likely to drop dress sizes quickly ;)

I once went down to 8 stone  (I was young and obsessed with weight) and still couldn't get into the next dress size down from where I am now (coz I'm fairly broad) so a couple a stone heavier and the same size suits me much better :p

You sound- Comfortable with yourself NW (if you know what I mean?!).
I on the other hand just know that I'm at that squished stage now and have to do something about it- But I'm not really sure of my "comfortable" size yet as I've always been 10+ stone but more around the 11 stone mark.. Some BMI things say that I need to be 9st 5lb but I think I would look awful as I'm quite broad too :D

It took me a long while to admit that no amount of dieting would make me a size 10 and I'd need bones surgically removed for that one!!! And then I realised it didn't make me happier I didn't feel healthier and it really wasn't worth it!

But I do have to acknowledge that I can't count things or else I get obsessive - fat grams (hence 8 stone), points, syns, calories. If I count then I get obsessed with the scales and weigh myself 3 times a day :o

So now, I don't count things - other than the number of biccies I'm going to have as a treat ;)

I just go by my clothes and how they look and how many squidgy bits could do with being a bit less squidgy :)

Hoping to get obsessive about the number of steps I do though - thinking that 16k would probably kill me :D

Just wanted to ask a question-

I'm eating little and often which I thought was the right thing to do esp. as I'm eating low calories and fat but a friend of mine has just told me that I'm eating to few calories and that my body will "starve" and save up all the calories it can which will turn to fat thus putting more weight on.... Is this true? If so, how are you supposed to diet :o

There is truth in what your friend says but if you are eating little and often your body shouldn't go into starvation mode as it is getting regular nourishment. It is if you dont eat regularly for example one meal a day instead of 3 that the starvation mode kicks in however your menu does look a little 'light' today - wouldn't be enough for me:o:D

I don't - I just only post on the better days :rotfl: or the days I need someone to tell me to get on with it :p

The sunny weather helps me think more about summer clothes and wanting to look slimmer - getting out for a walk in the sun gives me a boost too.

NW you sound like an inspiration to me :T If only the Victoria Beckhams and Cheryl Coles took note

Taplady- Thank you for your advice, that makes better sense to me... My main problem is always wanting to eat- so basically if I'm regularly eating fruit as snacks in between meals that would be ok wouldn't it? I have dinner to come yet too- Just can't decide on a "cold" dinner or "hot"
