  • I haven't popped in all week, but I hope you're feeling your usual happy self now!

Sorry to hear about your icky letters. I half-dread the postman coming for just that reason! Every penny does count, and any increase in bills etc doesn't help in the slightest! :(

 Morning OBNW!! lol - Nope no major shopping - mentally busy weekend though and **GASPS***. I'm having to work at work today - its just not on you know ;) How's you??

(I did get a bargain on saturday though - been needing a new bedspread for ages & got one at Sainsburys for £8.94 - Kingsize too!! along with £3.99 HUGE bathsheets). This stuff comes out of birthday money - I know its for the house but its only me that lives there! lol! ... so its for me really :)

Thanks Retro for your words - I am definitely trying for a much more positive week, well that was my thought this morning… and wham… get hit at work…… .......It was managers birthday last week – gave £5 for her present & then we went to the pub for birthday lunch Friday … so another £6 – which I need to get cash out today and pay back to someone. Then I forgot as someone walked round the corner and told me – it’s a ‘baby shower’ on Thursday for someone – that’s another £10 I need to get out to go towards their vouchers …. . God I hate work… along with my personal 5 birthdays this month & mothers day…. I keep thinking “When will I ever make a dent in my debt”!?!?

The above does not help with NDS's either... :(...

Good thing is I’m not going to let it bother me :D… Tomorrow night I have nothing to do… and I mean nothing, so I’m going to do admin night tomorrow night and get on top of things.

I’ve not been lazy – just had a very busy weekend (not spending money .. just my time) – but a lovely one nonetheless, with family & boyfriend.

I need to make that phone call and transfer from 0% CC into my account – to pay existing credit card & OD off. Then call the bank immediately and reduce OD. The card is on my list of things to do today. If the money is instant… then I will reduce OD today as well.

Tonight is possibly working late – which has to be done, then spend rest of evening with dad before he leaves us tomorrow for sunnier shores (who can blame him!)

So mentally busy as usual…… I can’t wait for a rest!!!!!

I hope everyone else is having a good monday?

    Emms xx

    Guess who's back... back again...

T'was no chance to get on internet today  ... its just not on you know, but the day out of the office meant free lunch and take home free dinner (they offered us have left overs!) So all helps in my MS journey ;)

    Today I have;

    1) Rang for the balance transfer and it shall be in my account in the next 6 days, I can't wait :j I have already set up a minimum direct debit so no chance of late payment (which apparently defaults the 0% agreement) and am going to be over paying well and truly above that each month... that means in the next year my OD & CC will be gone. That's my aim.

(:rotfl: at the guy trying to sell me the two things above again!! Obviously that's their tactics every time you ring!!) I was polite but firm again!:p

    2) I've done an update to my spend diary. I realised I'm not getting anywhere with this 'switching stuff' lark... I had theoried in my mad little head that by switching all the time and not getting cash out I wouldn't spend money that was just available in my purse. But I think I need to draw out money a week (thanks Nats for me pinching another idea!:T ) and live off that and leave card at home. If its gone - its gone.. i have food & petrol and everything else is just tough!!

Things from next month are going to be easier to sort. Currently I have two accounts which most of my household bills come out of one & a few other bits come out of the other. This is all making me do this - so as from tomorrow I will start changing all direct debits to come from one account (I'm challenging myself to one phone call a day). Each month I will then transfer what I know is 'my entertainmnt money' to other account. All this rambling just means I will not be getting as confused as I am now!!

Baby steps - baby steps.. but I'm getting there

I managed to get two very decent birthday presents yesterday for £30 all in. Few more to get yet - but I need to factor them into my weekly money - or its just not happening.

Right I'm off to make sandwich for tomorrows lunch and run a lovely bubble bath...

Still so much to do.. but I will get there!!

    Hasta luego me amigos!! xx

  • Well done Emms, I don't switch stuff anymore, I just lose track so now like Nats I draw out my money for my weekly shop, petrol, entertainment and incidentals. It's much easier to deal in cash and that scan your own thing at sainsburys stops me overspending as if I was just going to hand over a switch card I'd be too carefree:rolleyes:
Talking of making your sandwiches- last night whilst my daughter was having her singing lesson I have 45 mins to kill so I walk up to Sainsburys and yesterday needed some arnica so I popped in and all this wonderful bread and seedy rolls etc was being reduced. I've got rolls for the week for 15p for 6 in the freezer. (who said anything about cinnamon whirls:whistle: )

You're welcome hun - no probs!! Hope it works for you!! :j

Well done on the BT too! And for being strong when they were offering you money draining deals!!

Def like the idea of getting all your bits and pieces together in one account - much easer to track! I am still kina dreading the swap over to A&L.... but what will be will be.... and getting stressed is not going to help!! :D

Right - off to write on my own pages! :o

Have a great day, Nats x
