Hello everybody peeps! Just realised I've moved... ... well the diary has! What a good idea though to keep them in one place... wonder if the diaries had been taken over the board ;)

    How is everybody?

Thanks Nats & OBNW... all is good my end.

Nats - yes went out the weekend - it was a good night and not too expensive either (which always helps!). Spent around £20 on actually being out on Saturday night and £15 yesterday on bits for home again. All bargains though!! Means I still have £20 left in purse... However I do have a birthday at the end of this week (ANOTHER!!! I hear you cry)... and mothers day on Sunday. But I have this week's £50 to help too. Fingers crossed I'm going to bloomin well make it this month! :T - even with all those birthdays!!

Plus £25 on petrol on Saturday - I should be coming in under that budget again too - which makes up for the food budget being over...

Also dependant on a phone call to an English call centre - (have to ring before 1pm) I think I could as well be on the way to receiving £80 refund on last years water bill as I had a meter installed. My recent bill is somewhat confusing though - so I need to talk to someone and someone that understands me...

Going to attempt my new SOA over this next week and also factoring in putting some money away for holiday in June and more birthdays!!

Anyways - its nearly the end of Monday (worst day of the week out the way!)

Have a fab evening everyone :D

    xx

I 'spose being busy at work is a good thing - but I agree it does play havoc on the amount of time you can spend on here!! lol

    Hi Guys

I hope you are all well??

Well last week was busy at work - but apparently not busy enough ...... at 5pm Friday I get a letter 'inviting me to a meeting' on monday with HR & my manager... so today ... you guessed it... I join the 2million unemployed..... :(... I've been made redundant....

I left the office at 12, i have already typed up my cv and called my mortgage insurance company, get going on that. One insurance policy I'm very glad I had.

As I was taken on only late last year - I was an easy option... no rights and no redundancy pay... easy way out I guess.

I didn't write on here over the weekend as I had no idea what would happen (well i had a good idea - but friends told me to stay positive).. I'm so glad I found this site when I did as I'm not as scared as I could have been.

Bonus is I can get on here more often - I apologise if I stalk your diaries over the next few days ...every cloud and all that!!! ;)

I hope you're all fairing well and I promise to be back here tomorrow with a proper entry - i'm keeping busy tonight and going out to friends...

    Emms xxx

P.S... 'inviting me to a meeting' - wonder what they would have done if I declined the invite... ;)

  • Emms sorry to hear you have joined me well done you on acting straight away with the mortrgage.

First thing you need to do is get on line and get on JSA I waited two weeks an missed out it may only be £60.50 a week but it al helps and you have worked hard paying taxes - use them i was so down about going but they were great and they look up local jobs for you while you are there - they had some that I hadn't seen advertised at really good rates. It also means from the minute you register you claim on-line they will set you up for council tax benefit - it really was piece of mind with the Council tax for me - I was actually only on JSA for two weeks before I got a temp job and a waitress work so i'm working hard but It has the added benefit that I can't spend anything as i'm so busy :-)

I have wondered about 'invites' like this in the past!!

Really sorry to hear your bad news hun - but good on you for getting yourself all organised - and staying positive!!!

I'm sure it won't be long before you are back in the earnings again! I know things aren't great out there but you seem such a positive, determined, hard working young lady, that people would be fools not to employ you!!! :D

    Be back later!! Nats x

Thanks Rags, DTDT and Nats - much appreciated

DTDT - Thanks for advice - I didn't realise that I will get help with council tax. I will get onto that now!!!

They are being 'kind' to me with a discretionary payment, so I need to sit and work out what I can do. I get paid tomorrow - this payment included - so can really do my maths then. I also need to go food shopping - so even more reason now I need to do this on a budget.

Thanks Nats - I know any company would be lucky to have me :p My direct line manager really didn't want me to go - she was in a state... very complimentary about me and kept re-iterating it had nothing to do with me or work performance. I think that helps in keeping up beat!

So today's list of things to do (its 2pm already though so includes done items).

    Done
    Got wrapping paper
Applied online for a new job
    Tidied up house
Had lunch (mmmm fish finger sandwich!)
Started simmering spag bol for later (and another 3 more dinners - batch cooking!)

    To Do
    Get on JSA website
    Shopping list for tomorrow
    Start getting paperwork together
Call last two companies about direct debit change
    Work out next months bills.

    Have a great afternoon everyone!!
    xx
