:D Hello eveybody - congratulations and hugs to all with news/who need a hug. Well, I have got a stomach upset today so I am actually posting before I go back to bed. However, this may in no small part be caused by giddiness over the last week. Some of you will recognise my user name as a fabulous LP by a wonderful 1980s group who sadly have not performed properly since 1985. That is until April next year :j :j :j :j :j Ultravox are re-forming for a tour and guess who has tickets for both Manchester and Glasgow :j :j :j :j (not very old style I know but c'mon I've waited 25+ years for this!) I am soooooooooooooooooo happy...... (not quite in the same league as a new born but dammit, IMO as near as :rotfl: ). I have also dropped huge hints to Father Christmas AKA Mr Rage as I am convinced they are going to do another date in London and if so........... Oh, I'm back to be in my mid-teens again..... Apart from that not much happening. Sold a couple of more things on e-bay but have had a rash of non-paying bidders  Also yesterday was my Dad's bithday - he would have been 100 so we took flowers to Mum's grave and then I took some flowers today to him - wasn't well enough yesterday. Also unfortunately the lady who was my Brown Owl when I was little died yesterday from an aggressive cancer. She lives at the top of Scotland so it's 50/50 if we can get to the funeral (as I am waiting to be told when it is and Manchester to Wick is a long way). So rather a mixed bag over the weekend - but we did have a snow flurry this morning :D right that's it I can hear a hot water bottle calling via the bathroom. Huddle up warm everybody it's going to be cold one!

It is a long way i lived a few years ago 12 hr straight drive to see parents in berkshire, 666 miles to be exact (abit of an omen the mileage) hence i didn't last long up there:rolleyes:

Congratulations Soapy! Pics and name and more info please!

Celyn - lovely to have you home! Hope you found out where the loos were lol!

Elona - bet your sink has a glass like surface now! Hope there is no more rain on your parade!

Halight - sorry to hear your news, glad that you still have your job though.

Rage in Eden - hope you feel better soon. I saw Ultravox once in Brighton in concert, think Runrig were the support act and they gave out free albums!

Sybil - if you find anyone to do all that work for £500 please let us all have their number lol! Loving the little bear reading adventure story, bless him, my ds was unbelievably good at finding trouble and mischief when he was small, more than once I had to remove him from people roofs, or from between the loose covers and sofas, or apologise as I left and noticed that every piece of fruit in their fruit bowl had small teeth marks in it!

Right, best grab my uniform and get off to w**k now, sigh! Have a good evening all xx

Hi all, DH has gone for a well earnt pint after washing the car in this cold weather, I have put sausages wrapped in bacon and stuffing balls  (ELONA why did you spring to mind  ) in the oven to go with the delish bird in bird left over dinner from y/day.

I have spent time cancelling orders and organising returns for everything I have bought because the VAT went down today, think I have saved quite a bit as I bought a camera, tomtom, several lecy pressies, clothes etc. for xmas pressies.

ELONA, your DH doesn't sound a meanee, sounds normal to me, it's a man thing. My DH doesn't do the 'Oh xmas woopee' thing either. Every year he says what a great xmas that was and you have made such an effort but still can't help saying 'I think you're going overboard, how much? who's that for? why do we have to bother doing so much, there's only the two of us now. Forgetting that I cater for all the family.

Any hoooo enough of my ramblings DH is home so must get dinner out.

    Love & hugs to all.

  • Hi all!! I must confess that I read this thread every single day but have never posted so thought it was time i said hello!! You have all helped me loads with motivation and i usually have a read of what you are all up to and then get motivated to get my a**e in gear so a big thank you to you all.
Well today i have cleared out the airing cupboard ready for new boiler/tank etc to be fitted tomorrow but just had a call to say they cant make it until wednesday instead - i cant be bothered to put all the sheets, towels etc back so they will have to stay in piles all around my bedroom! Finished my DS sock monkey (my 2nd one) today so he is well pleased. i thought that at 13 he would be too old but he is over the moon!!! hoovered all upstairs and cleaned the kids bedrooms - i say kids but DD is 18, DS1 is 15 and DS2 is 13. The mess was unbelievable. i retrieved 5 glasses, 2 plates and a teaspoon from DS1's room, a mountain of washing and about 5 of my dvds!!! DH put a new radiator in DS2's room and has just presented me with some chelsea buns he made (he used to be a baker many years ago).
Popped into town and got a couple of xmas pressies and went to the butchers and morries and thats about it really.
Well i feel as though i have waffled on enough so will say cheerio for now and will pop back in tomorrow.
PS - happy birthday to thriftlady and congratulations to soapy ( am feeling broody now :)
