Hi everybody :hello:
Congratulations Soapy :T :T :j :j - typical man, turns up when he feels like it and not a moment soonerI bet it's cos he got lost on the way but was too proud to ask for directions
Happy birthday Thriftlady :bdaycake:
I've had a manic weekend, albeit a nice one - went to a concert with my mum on Friday evening and spent the night at hers so I could go to her choir concert the following evening (and so I could walk/feed the dog while Mum was at choir practice). I also saw my sister for the first time in a YEAR  I had no idea it had been that long! We've talked on the phone and emailed each other, but we haven't actually been in the same place for absolutely ages. The poor thing has no heating (boiler man is coming out sometime this week) and says she can see her breath on the air in her living room. Now her bath pipework has sprung a water leak as well
Am aiming for three consecutive no spend days, or to be a little more specific, three days of not spending out of the normal housekeeping/spending money (I need to do some spending out of the Christmas budget). Finally got round to getting myself an Advent calendar this lunchtime. All the prices in the shop are weird because of the reduced VAT.
Am just finishing off my lunch which was HM cottage pie - and for dinner this evening I'm having chicken breasts with parmesan and ham, a la Jamie's Ministry of Food.
Must get back to work now - might post this evening if I've got anything worth sayingNeed to get a review written, do some tidying and cleaning (and washing - OMG, I don't know how I still have any clean clothes, I did so little housework last week!)

Congratulations Soapy - so happy for you. Friday's child is loving and giving. Little bear was born on a Friday and he is very loving and giving (and green nosed and Mr Mischief at the moment )
Elona - I really do sympathise, I really do. Dear heart is convinced we can get the main roof and the porch roof done, lots of repointing and sealing and windows puttied in for £500. Also he is not generous when it comes to birthdays and Christmas - he remembers being very pleased to have £1 as a young lad and doesn't always understand that nowadays more is generally given. It may run in his family. His sister (wannabe Mrs Clooney) gave him a sonic screwdriver for his 40th birthday (the plastic toy sort, not the real type ) where I always feel that you should be a bit more generous than that. And as for going shopping with him... No! You could try explaining, showing, anything you like - all you get is a grunt.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
CONGRATULATIONS SOAPY, WELL DONE.:j :j
ELONA, glad I wasn't drinking coffee when I read stuffing the socks somewhere, Not in the turkey:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: thanks for the laugh, was just picturing a very supprised look on his face and a very satisfied one on yours.:rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
:j  Congratulations Soapy and family:beer: :j0
