I work full time as cabin crew, I don't think they pay is ever enough
Other 'alf is a pilot, we're a bit of a cliche
Great travel discounts, just a shame we never seem to have any money to use them.
I'm trying to form an escape plan and retrain into something else as I'm desperate for a challenge - this thread is superb for ideas !0 -

Potatoes on a belt? What has the fashion industry come to....?
I'm an unemployed commercial pilot. Am just starting out in the industry, and it's looking rather bleak (there's an aviation forum a bit like this and it's mostly doom and gloom on there). May have to go get some experience in Africa.
I've also had a few random odd jobs (my friends reckon my CV would be an interesting read :rotfl:) including:- exam invigilation at a local school (funnily enough, it was one of the schools my old high school used to compete with, so I knew a few of the staff)
- answering questions as an AQA researcher - great fun
- mystery shopping (although it never really pays more than you spend, so it's more about the freebies.... did have three Pizza Huts in one week before tho.... soooo not good!)
- flyering for clubs in Central London
- serving at the bars at Wembley and Emirates stadiums (!!!!!! job, poorly paid, some right tw@s for management - wouldn't recommend it)
- selling on eBay - although it's more about shifting my hoardes of tat, rather than making money
- volunteering at a local youth group - awesome fun.
Really like some of the random jobs on here and have messaged a few people asking for more details.

I have two jobs one official and the other 'unofficial'
I work for a bank in the city of London in a Risk Management role. I'm quite fortunate that this is a strong and well to do area if there is one in the city of banking and finance. We were never on huge salarys (with bonus) like some of the traders but many in the team can expect to earn between £55K and up to £75K which is what I earn.
The unofficial job is that I sell concert and sport tickets to sold out events. I don't like the term 'Ticket tout' as it has negative connotations about ripping people off, etc. I deliver a good service and have never let one of my buyers down. Many people don't want to sit on a phone at 9am or rush with others to get premium tickets. I didn't know what I was doing last year as It took a while to work out how what was good concerts, subscribing and doing a lot of research on venues, bands, etc. At first it was just some pocket extra money.
Though having said that, I can now earn approx £25K from doing it each year just by myself. Thanks0 -

I am Mid 40s
I am a Senior Claims Handler for a Buildings Insurance Firm, I validate and deal with all aspects of buildings claims.

Pay is good at £16 per hour with plenty of overtime available at Time & 1/2.
I started 3 years ago with no previous experience in the industy.
Not a bad industry to work in, if you are "Mature" and have basic IT and comms skills provides a decent living either part or full time.
I also Mystery shop and Audit during the week, as well as making a very good living exploiting Tesco loopholes so far this year from Tesco I have managed 2 Free Cars on Tesco Points worth about £30000 in total, plus loads of other items and free shopping all year.Over 100k miles of Electric Motoring and rising,0
