Adsa once substituted my veggie 'bacon' for actual bacon. I found it too funny to care!

When i was living with a friend who had to have wheat free food we got a loaf of white bread instead of wheat free bread - not sure if it was sainsbury's or tesco0

I ordered a 9kg special offer box of washing powder for about £4. It was sold out, so they sent me nine 1kg boxes of Persil that were about £3 each!
I ordered three 8-packs of Kopparberg cider on offer at £4.80. None in stock apparently, so they sent 24 individual bottles (packaged up into packs of 8!!!!) for £1.99 each. £48 instead of £14-odd for exactly the same same product - even the packaging was identical.
I read of someone who ordered a packet of sweetie mushrooms, which was substituted for tinned ones.
I hate is when they substitute my cereals. They always send horrid ones with dried cranberries and things in.
And why do they ALWAYS ignore your request not to send any substitutions at all?0 -
I love this thread - so funny lol. I like to keep my substitutions box open, you never know what surprise you'll get!!!
Had my Tesco delivery today, and the picker must have got a bit forgetful. I've ended up with 2 packets instead of 1 for:
-Angel Cake
-Wholemeal Baps
-Strawberry ring doughnuts
-Apple Pies
-Ordered 3 strawberry whips and got 6
-Shower gel
.....but my best is I ordered 2 packets of 12 crumpets (this was a mistake as I had meant to order just 1 packet). Anyway, they've duplicated that so I now have..........4 packets, ie 48 crumpets :rotfl: Now I love crumpets for breakfast as much as the next person, but with a use by date of Sunday 7 Dec I think I'll be eating them for brekkie, lunch and dinner!!
I've checked through my bill and they haven't charged me for all these duplicates. I feel a bit guilty if I don't own up, so I may give them a call tomorrow
Oh I just had one boring substitute - dove hand wash instead of Tesco own.
I love this thread, long may it continue0 -
From Mr Tescos
Ordered 12 bread rolls, it was substituted with 2 x 6 packets of Pitta bread
that all had a best before date of the day of the delivery !donstermonster0 -
Given up on home delivery now. Tesco always substitutes and never for items that I want. It doesn't seem worth it anymore. BTW this thread is a hoot keep it up! :jNo you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T0 -
Sammy girl - you can freeze crumpets and they'll be fine for 6 months! :T0

From asda, bag of dairy fudge substituted for a cadburys finger of fudge.
Best one was when they had no rola chicken fillets and they end up substituting for twice the weight of normal asda chicken fillets. Got twice as much chicken for the price of the rola chicken. Saved about £12 on that one (nice asda subs policy)
Got asda coming this morning, hopefully nothing too daft though as we've ordered their rola christmas tree for 97p we could get anything really
EDIT - Not one substitute today.... I'm almost disappointed0 -
I ordered a 6 pack of sainsburys own kitchen roll, and got a substitute of........ a 6 pack of sainsburys own kitchen roll!! Both me and the delivery driver could not see what the difference was!!!! Sam xx0
