What's the strangest "substitute" item you've been offered on your home delivery?

I ordered 4 energy saving light bulbs with a small Edison screw fitting. Tesco sent me 4 energy saving light bulbs with bayonet fittings. The instore shoppers make me wonder at times. A sensible substitution can be great as it saves you having to fetch the item however, light bulbs that don't fit my light fittings are worse than useless. Best of it was the driver had no idea what I was talking about and clearly thought I was just being fussy. Grrrrrrrrr

ordered 2 flapjacks (admittedly with some kind of seeds added), received 2 sesame bars

ordered chilled carrot & parsnip soup, received chilled roasting parsnips with an odd "gingerbread sauce" (they have about 3 other carroty soups that they could have substituted - clearly they picked the odd substitution because it was the same price as the original item)

I always tick the box for no substitutions (I would appreciate surprises but my husband doesn't). It's a mystery to us as to how this is often ignored...

Instead of 4 loaves of bread I got 4 bags of carrots!!!
Even the driver was laughing.

I have had dried basl instead of a fresh basil plant. I had a delivery on a very cold night so was not surprised that everything was cold when I unpacked it. The only problem was that everything on the order had been in the freezer part of the delivery van so was frozen!! Growing salad, grapes, bacon, yoghurt,tomatoes. The daft thing was that I had not ordered any frozen food at all. Tesco refunded me the cost of the whole order and delivery charges.

Just got a delivery today and i had ordered 3 ladies body sprays and 2 men's body sprays. 5 ladies body sprays were sent now just to break the news to my partner:eek::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Order 4 x low fat spread (Marg) f0r baking and got cheese spread, accepted it as we will use it but phoned CS just to make them aware someone is making silly choices and he insisted on giving me the money back. I love Asda for the price match thing ....

I just got my order - no funny subs (tho a few others!) but had ordered 3 bottles of wine on the 3 for £10 offer and 1 was out of stock so they just sent me the 2 and charged full price which was more than for the 3! I phoned CS and no problem they would deduct price of one bottle so got 2 bottles of Banrock Station for £5.18 - result! Worth a phone call ;-) Makes you wonder though when they substitute other items but when its an offer like this they didnt!
