Just been sent a single no '9' candle as a substitute for a packet of birthday candles and holder. Absolutely useless to me, all I wanted was one candle to put on my mums 70th birthday cake.

Hehe, this has been an incredibly funny thread I have to say!

We've not had any especially outlandish substitutions yet, but we did get some coco pops on offer - it was the small boxes in Asda, they were on one of those 2 for £xx deals, which was a nice reduction in itself. The small boxes were the 375g ones...

Because of the way Asda's price matching and subs policy works, when they were out of stock, they sent 2x 800g boxes for the same price! Nice!!

The only weird substitution I've had was when I ordered 2 x multipacks of Skips which I like to take to work.

They sent 5 small bags of their own brand (Tesco) prawn cocktail crisps!!! I mean if I'd ordered 12 bags of crisps why on earth would they think that 5 bags would be sufficient?!

They also sent a half-sprayed can of Sure deodorant :eek: (that was OH's) and decided that I didnt need 4 packs of sanitary towels so only sent 2! :eek:

I once ordered asda own brand hair conditioner cherry almond scent i think...and they sent black cherry blossom shoe polish instead!

another time i ordered advacado face mask from sainsburys and they sent an actual advacado as a replacement.

A pal of mine ordered 6 grapefruits for some recipe for a dinner party.....and got 6 bottles of grapefruit shower gel!!!
