Ebayers posting items in carrier bags & other mad waysetc !

I kinda see what the seller is on about, wouldn't want to receive an item of clothing in a tescos bag with bits of food and an old receipt in it lol, but at the same time, I have re-used the thicker bags, so long as you use a couple they are nice and waterproof etc, and never had any complaints - it's a good way to get rid of the drawer of carrier bags everyone seems to collect!! I also like to reuse anything I can, I have 500 pairs of shoes, so I have a lot of boxes which I sometimes use for more than one item or something bulky, then wrap in brown paper etc. I try to keep my postage at the lowest rate possible - usually what I actually charge doesn't quite cover the postage costs, so I try to make use of what I can, but my buyers have never complained and I feel a bit more eco-friendly for it..0

I have to say I'm not a fan of recycling plastic bags as the outer packaging - or at least not the tesco etc ones that have holes in! I received a delicate top ruined as the sender had not taped over the holes! It obviously had been soaked at some point and was trashed when I got it - packaging ripped a bit too. Not good!
Heavy duty bags... fine but not cheap and nasty supermarket ones that barely last till you get home with your shopping... How are they going to last through the postal system? I'm all for recycling but even using a cheap ziplock freezer bag (eg something clean and waterproof) then into recycled packaging would have been a better idea?Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

Nicolefury...where did you buy them from?
I package clothes in a clean plastic bag (m&s or suchlike) then I wrap it a million times in brown paper, then loads of tape- it's getting wastefull!
poundland do 5 jiffy bags which are always good when im selling something new - although their bubble wrap isnt always so perfect.
This thread reminds me of m,y first ebay sale, my feedback was something along the lines of 'excellent packaging, it was like opening a pass the parcel' - still makes me laugh when I think how tightly I wrapped the books up (individually AND together!).If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -
I did a search on ebay, and bought some for £2.50 for like 15 assorted sizes, and I could have had any colour I wanted. I just went for pink because it looked nice!Dooyoo £10.40/40, TopCashBack £17.19/30, Valued Opinions 50p/£10, Swagbucks 0/£20, Ebay £15/£250

I sent out a large statue in the box my new loo had come in.
Why not? It was clean (!) and really sturdy and strong."I'm ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille...."0 -
The most interesting packaging I recieved was an old pizza box turned inside out, have to say it did the job, despite the spicy aroma :hello: Hiya, I'm single mom, avid moneysaver and freecycler, sometimes  but definatly0

Items arriving in carrier bags is fine, as long as they're well secured with tape, and arrive intact. It's just annoying when someone charges loads for P&P, then it's been sent 2nd class in a carrier bag, where it clearly states that it cost something like 75p to post.D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0

I had an item I bought from eBay delivered a few days ago in an envelope lined with an easter egg box to stiffen it, I didn't have a problem with it as the items arrived in good condition, it was only when I went to put it in to the recycling I realised my fingers were covered in chocolate from one part of the box, at least I hope it was chocolate, I resisted the temptation to lick my fingers clean.0
