Some people really mind if they didn't get new pristine packaging and will mark you down for it - particularly if they feel they were charged for both the Ps in P&P.

Some of us occasionally go  when we see what something has been sent in but we keep calm and carry on so long as the packaging is fit for purpose. :D

i am always stupidly happy if somebody packs clothing in tissue rather than just popping it into a mailing sack as it is but when you think about it, tissue adds no protection does it? It just shows that the seller took care and time over packaging.

I pack all my free postage items in recycled packaging and I've just done a DSR report that shows that in the last 90 days 6% of people who got free postage marked me at 3 or 4 for P&P whereas everybody who paid postage gave me a 5.

    What's that about?!

i object to paying lots of p and p and then getting my stuff in used carriers or on one ocassion a bin liner! if p and p charges are reasonable i dont mind

i sold a new monsoon dress on ebay, wrapped it in lilac tissue, monsoon bag, gold stickers the lot and all i got was an "arrived ok", if someone had done that for something i'd bought i would have mentioned it and been so pleased

i used to put wrapped kiddie sweets (love hearts, parma violets, that type of thing) when i sent out packages. But i stopped doing that when i realised someone may sue me for whatever reason, choked, allergic reaction etc.

I thought i was doing something nice and perhaps giving my buyer a smile when they opened the package, but i'm sure some TSFE would try and use this against me somehow!

Ohh what do you sell I got a fruit salad in something I bought from Ebay, I thought it was a great idea :D I think it was a belly bar I bought. Somebody left a negative about the sweety, how carp is that

I won a motorbike jacket - it arrived in a surgical vaginal plastic speculam box. With big pictures of the surgical instrument all over it - the box wasnt very discreet.

I was a bit puzzled at first - staring at the picture on the box, wondering why i would be recieving such items so i opened it to find my jacket inside.

Nice jacket though and all the family had a good giggle.

I too have had items turn up in blown vinyll wallpaper, carrier bags, re-used envelopes & newspapers.

Im happy as long as i get the item i paid for in the condition it was described, as i take into account the auction price plus P&P.

I sold something once and the buyer sent me an evelope that had been used about 5 times with stamps on that obviously had been taken off sent letters. He also sent payment in cash minus the postage cost so I had no choice but to send it in the tatty envelope with the dodgy used stamps on! He never even left me feedback!

You need nerves of steel to do enhanced DSR reports. I am still pondering why I had 2 lots of 1 or 2 * left for item not as described yet all glowing positive feedback

I don't think it matters what a seller uses for packaging so long as it is reflected in postal costs and the item is suitably wrapped. I don't mind things in used jiffy bags or bin bags so long as I'm not charged extortionate amounts of postage, but then I usually have a rough idea how much something should cost to post and if it is way over the odds don't bother bidding anyway.

I too have got a bit excited to receive items of clothing wrapped in tissue paper, nice touch I think:j

    I've been Money Tipped!
    I once bought a bundle of children's clothing, with p&p at £10.

It was hand delivered in a black bin liner.

I didn't complain and left good feedback and stars as I was happy with the overall price that I paid, but I do have to say that I would think twice about buying there again. (clothes were lovely for little bear, though).
