You need nerves of steel to do enhanced DSR reports. I am still pondering why I had 2 lots of 1 or 2 * left for item not as described yet all glowing positive feedback

I'd had a few slightly terse feedback comments "Arrived Thanks" and "Good Service Thanks" so I thought I'd have a look.

The thing I really hate is when the DSRs go red. I go into panic mode. But a couple of your posts have helped me put it into perspective.

In some ways the Enhanced DSR Reports do too. Never mind the silly 6% - 94% left me a 5.

Maybe 6% is the loony ratio on eBay? (It seems higher than that some days!)

i used to put wrapped kiddie sweets (love hearts, parma violets, that type of thing) when i sent out packages. But i stopped doing that when i realised someone may sue me for whatever reason, choked, allergic reaction etc.

I thought i was doing something nice and perhaps giving my buyer a smile when they opened the package, but i'm sure some TSFE would try and use this against me somehow!

I would love it if someone put a sweetie inside my package, it's such a nice touch. I once receieved something from Japan that had a little sticker sheet inside as a gift, maybe try something like that instead?

I ordered a T-shirt from eBay the other day, was happy when it turned up in a new, strong mailing bag, really well presented but then when I took it out the top was absolutely covered in dog/cat hair  How can anyone take that much care over presentation and packing, but not realise how scruffy/gross that is?
D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't important

  • someone i know once sent a bike in some banana boxes. to this day i am not sure how exactly he managed that, but apparently the buyer applauded him for it !

To be totally honest, when i buy something off ebay i dont care how it is wrapped, or what it has been wrapped in aslong as it arrives in one piece and is clean.
I use bags to wrap clothes in and then i either put it in a jiffy bag or wrap it in brown paper just to protect the item that little bit more. My postage is fine, infact sometimes i lose out because i havent estimated properly, but i suppose that is my own fault!
    PAD from July= £55.10
    Aug= £120.57
    Getting organised for christmas!!!!
  • I also use thick plastic bin bag, no so cheap, but practical and secure, can adapt larger items.
  • I usually go to the post office and ask for the special delivery bags, turn them inside out (as there is nothing on the other side) and then post them. The guy at the post office knows I do this but he gets them free from royal mail anyway so he doesn't mind! They are good jiffy bags!! Come in a few sizes and if anything is big we just cut a few bags open and wrap it around and use parcel tape. Free jiffy bags and the item gets there in one piece!
  • Hi all, I normally re-use packaging where possible and only charge what it costs to send so I make no profit on P&P which is fine by me :D my question to you all is, I have discovered I own about 4 rolls of wrapping paper... nothing written on but patterned paper, would you be happy if any item that would be sent out in brown paper arrived in this? Trying to save money on brown paper when I have all this I won't ever use!

Be careful not to waste money when trying to save it. Paper is surprisingly heavy, if you use enough of it to securely wrap an item you may well push yourself into the next weight band. Recently I had a number of copies of a book, it was very slim and weighed 235g. Putting it in a single light weight jiffy (mine weigh 13g) meant it could go as a large letter at 76p. Any other wrapping strong enough to protect it against bumps would have pushed me into the next weight band and would have cost me £1.04.

I seem to do ok with brown paper and a decent amount of clear parcel tape...

Both bought on big rolls from the £1 shop so fairly inexpensive and looks fairly neat & professional once wrapped :)

I,ve had this too - I think they leave positive fedback so that you do for them, but leave snidey scores as they think its completely anonymous. I also think that people mark badly to make their own scores look good.

I once had a new child's dress delivered in one of those plastic see through penny-sweet boxes. Not only could you see the item and the lid could esily be taken off,but the dress smelled of those bannana sweets ever after.
