Ebayers posting items in carrier bags & other mad waysetc !

What on earth to some people regard as suitable for posting. So many times lately I have recieved items wrapped in asda etc carrier bags with cellotape around them !
Some of the items I have been recieving are wrapped in a variety of disgusting and unsuitable ways. I just find it mad people regard this as suitable, Im all for recycling but not charging an extra few quid for packing when carrier bags are free.
( its not even bags for life or new carrier bags usually mouldy old ones .... )

I have a friend in the USA who used to send bits over for DD. One day a parcel arrived and the postie was smirking...

..she sent a tampax box, with just a small address label stuck to one side!

I can top that, a friend of mine ordered an inflatable woman for a stag night, and the sender posted it out in an unwrapped box with an address label...to make matters worse the seller had written "Enjoy your purchase" on the label :rotfl: Apparently the delivery guy actively avoided making eye contact.

Not quite in the same thread, but I made a test purchase from a competitor, who sent me the item in the original box from their supplier.... evil6.gif

That deserved the full 5 star feedback!!

  • All of my items get sent in reused jiffy bags and mailing bags. By doing this it keeps my postage cost down and the overall cost down to the winning bidder...

and I don't charge for petrol, time off work, time spent i na queue etc either...
  • Guess I must be one of the "odd" people. Whenever I post something I derive a degree of satisfaction from knowing that I've sent out a nice clean and tidy parcel! Strangely enough, it includes an aptly described item;)

So long as stuff lands in one piece, does it really matter if the packaging is recycled?

I often use plastic bags for clothes ... but only nice clean plastic bags of the tougher plastic type (not the free bags) ... Keeps costs down for everyone. It's only second hand stuff anyway ;).
  • I think that used bags are ok if they are clean. I suppose it depends on the item and if extra packing is needed. I don't see the problem if you are sending something like clothes.

Sending a fragile or expensive item in just a see through carrier is a no no, especially if the seller charges the same as you would expect for a brand new jiffy.

Sometimes it is more time consuming and uses more tape that just putting in a new jiffy.
  • im with dave- surely u would be pleased ur seller is recycling?

have some regard for the planet please
