She cannot register on the members forum Andrew as the phone number/account details she was allocated come back as "unreconised" the same as if you phone in.

Hi Mystified, my account details and phone number came up as unrecognised too. If you go to the forums, click on members forums and scroll to the bottom, there is a contact us link. If you fill in the form there and tell them the problem, they should fix it. That's what they did for me (eventually).:)

    HI Mystyfied,

If you can complete the contact us form on the Members website with the account and telephone number we can get the registration issue sorted for you.

    Thanks,

  • Hi, bare with me this is my first post on here!

I am so upset at the so called 'customer service' from Talk Talk that I am getting desperate now .

In a nutshell I reently moved house and took over the existing talk talk line. I was told that after the transfer I should contact Talk Talk and they would send me a modem and the means to get started. I keep trying to call them, they either cut you off, tell you they will transfer you to someone who can help but then just put you back to the telephone options menu or say they are closed when you are calling within their opening hours! they seem to be a nightmare so far.

I 've emailed them but don't hold out much hope of getting a response. I am hoping that they still have representatives who look at these posts and that they might be shamed into assisting me. at the moment I am paying for broadband that I am not getting and am also still paying my old provider just so I can get access to my emails etc so it's costing me double!

    Hi mrsturtle,

Sorry to hear that you have not been sent a modem.

I can get one sent out to you but I would need you to register on the TalkTalk members forum first so I can confirm a few details.

  • Hello,

I have put in a home move request.

Talktalk advised that I am unable to keep my telephone number and to contact BT. I get the impression TalkTalk is reluctant and not even attempting to try!

Anyway.. I contacted BT who have advised me that there is no reason why I cannot keep my telephone number as long as it is in the same telephone exchange, and there is no technical reason why they cannot.

BT have done a check and advised that both postcodes are in the same telephone exchange, thus I should be able to keep my number. They advised I go back to TalkTalk asking them to advise the BT Openreach engineer to keep same number.

The move of my TalkTalk services is very much dependent on me being able to keep my telephone number.
I share the same opinion as BT that there should be no reason why I cannot keep my same telephone number.

Currently telephone is due to end Wednesday 24 March, and house move order already in progress.

adeniyio when I moved 3 years ago I had talk talk and BT for line rental. I moved in same town and same exchange and I kept same number, although BT messed up getting be reconnected
  • Hello savemoney,

Just to clarify, did you pay line rental to BT or directly to TalkTalk?
Just to make sure it wasnt a BT line rental with TT services.

TT are adamant I cannot transfer number.
BT retail, BT openreach, and even Orange home say I can!

Can you tell me how you managed to convince TT to keep same no.?

    Hi All,
We seem to be in the same situation as adeniyio even though we are only moving a few streets away, we have confirmed the houses are on the same exchange and have always been more than happy with TalkTalk, we have hit a brick wall with regards taking our existing phone number with us.

Anyone got any ideas how we sort this out?
    Thanks
