I think so too! Although the truth is like the rest of us I need to earn some money, so had no choice but to apply for as many positions as possible and hope that by the law of averages, something would prove suitable in the end.
Congrats on your offer too! Have you got a start date yet?0 -

Nooooo, not yetHad my crb back last week and now just playing the waiting game too.
So frustrating. I can't wait to get back to work! I've been applying for some temp work to fill in the wait but there seems to be none around, and if there is they want a degree, relevant collage courses, at least 2 years experience all for 5:70 an hour for two weeks!? Ahhh well. As long as i get placed soon i can't complain, at least i have something on the horizon."You dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows"0 -

That's a tough one! I'm also waiting for checks for two different roles, only one with the DWP though. The DWP role pays more but means I'll have to drive there, plus it's only a contract 'up to 18 months' and I may have to work evenings/weekends. The other is a couple of miles from home, so I can walk or take public transport, and is regular office hours but it pays quite a bit less. Dilemas, dilemas!0 -

And your successful letter and CRB check came back quite quickly too, so hopefully they won't keep you waiting much longer.
It's ironic really, as soon as we've started work we'll start wishing our lives away by praying for the end of day/weekend/next holiday so we don't have to work!0 -
My interview is today, EO.
Just Doing final preps.
Wish me luck...0 -
Good Luck
they asked me questions like...think of a time when u managed ppl... what tools u used and what was the outcome..
also think of a time when u exceded customer satisfaction
hope this helps...:rotfl:0 -
In case anyone (like me!) is wondering.
If your succesful letter doesnt mention waiting lists then you are on the merit list and will obvioulsy be recruited as soon as possible.
If your on the waiting list they wont carry out pre-recruitment checks. of those checks, they take 20 working days apparently.... its the DWP who do the checking and not Manpower so that should be accurate!0 -

Haha, i know!! I should be taking advantage of being free and easy but i have no cash to!!! Ironic...when you have cash you have no time to do anything good, when you have the all the time in the World...no cash to use it and do anything fun!!! *sigh*"You dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows"0
