Hi Jamie,
The penny has just dropped on who you are.
I was thinking your name was "Janice" and when you just said your name is "Jamie" I realised who you are. (The comment about your name when we were doing the tests).LOL.0 -

I'm trying to put a face to your name, but I'm struggling to do so. I remember a fair few people, but didn't really catch anyone's names unfortunately, as I was only sat down for about ninety seconds after the test when it was time to go for my interview.
I've been trying that number every couple of hours or so and still no luck. Still telling me it's busy. I'll keep on trying, hopefully I'll get an answer sometime tomorrow.0 -

I also received the success letter this morning, and been put on the waiting list for the AO post IRC 62230 for Chester. Is this a good or bad thing????
Hi. Not to worry. The same thing happened with IRC60076. Everyone was put on a 12 month waiting list while they sorted out their merit list. Give is about 2 weeks then ask for your position on the list and how many vacancies there are. That will give you a rough idea of how long your wait is to be.I can do all things through him who gives me strength....:A0 -
Again, apologies for the double post - but I have a little bit more information.
I finally got through - to the most Geordie sounding bloke ever. I explained the situation and he said it's just how they do things, as it's the fairest way. He said once it's verified how many people they want/need, they'll look to the merit list and take people off there based on their order. He said I should have absolutely nothing to worry about. I did ask about how many vacancies are available for reference 62230, but he said he had no information.
Might try again by the end of the week and try and dig out some more information.
Edit: Ah, thanks for the clarification, Thando. That's put my mind at rest a little bit.0 -

Well, my CRB cert arrived in the mail today. A full week sooner than I was expecting it, to be honest. Thought it would be next week at the absolute earliest.
Hopefully not too much longer to wait, now!0 -
My check is being done at the moment, got a call today to verify some information...hopefully I shall be starting soon...0

Hi Again,
I had "the call" today and have been offered a job in Leeds, irc-60529, I was also successfull at s.yorks interview 60535 but was told I am 225 on the merit list and they will not be setting on anywhere near 200 so I have had to take the leeds one!! Problem is I now live in South Yorkshire so I was hoping for one there!! I dont mean to sound ungratefull or anything but its just its an hour and half comute for me everyday now..
ANYWAY TO THE POINT!! Just wondering if anyone knows once you have your foot in the door so to speak is it possible to get a transfer to a closer jobcentre??>
Any advice apreciated. Thanks0 -
I think you have to serve your probabation in the Jobcentre where you are put for at least a year before you can put in a transfer request.Newbie3101 wrote: »Hi Again,

I too am sure it is 12 months before you can request a transfer. Like you, I was successful for the South Yorkshire AO position, and also for Leeds IRC 62053 EO position. I live in South Yorkshire, but its only 50 min train journey for me to Leeds so its not really a problem. Prefer the Leeds position anyway.
Congrats in any event:T when do you start, and where is your training?
