Well the lady on the phone started by saying that they have a role in Battersea Jobcentre and it is a very good place to work in,i then asked her if there are other options, she said there are vacancies in Peckham and Cumberwell. After hearing this i told her i will be happy to work at Battersea. She didnt say anythin about Benefit Centre opportunities.
Thanks for reply. Are you located in South London?? When did you receive your success letter and Disclosure Scotland Certificate?0 -

Just received a call about fifteen minutes ago regarding 62644.The interview is Sunday, 27th of September at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in Warrington - so you should receive a call too, if you haven't done so already
It's especially good for me because the Halliwell Jones Stadium is about five minutes away from me
Hi Jamie,
Thanks for that, I haven't heard anything yet so hopefully will hear something soon. Well done to you, and Good Luck for Sunday.
I'll let you know if I hear anything.

Yes i am based in south London,i went for interview on 11th Aug at a hotel near London bridge.I received success letter on the last week of August dated 26th Aug,there was no waiting list mentioned on my letter. On 5th Sept i received disclosure of Scotland letter from DWP and today i received a phone call.I hope you get yours soon if not tomorrow.
Thanks again for the extra bit of info, it helps to put things into perspective.
I live in Central London, so I guess there will offer me a location within Central London area, although to be honest I would prefer to work back office within a Benefit Delivery Centre. My timeline is similar to yours. I had my interview on 10th Aug at Manpower, Liverpool Street, success letter dated 26th Aug and I received my Disclosure Scotland from DWP on the 10th Sept.0 -
For South Yorkshire - I did my interview in July and found out today that no-one from my interview batch has been offered a job yet, they only sent out for references last week and won't be offering jobs until October so why people are saying there's not enough jobs for the applicants I do not know. My brother did a South Yorkshire interview about 3 weeks after me so I highly doubt there's not enough jobs or they wouldn't have continued to interview for so long.
Where did you get the info that there weren't enough jobs?
Hi There, I got the info from the lady who sent me my successfull letter, She advised me to take the West yorks job as they have "realised" that they dont need as many people as first thought, She was very honest with me and said I quote " I would rather be honest with you then have you not knowing but you are number 225 on the merit list and they will not be setting on anywhere near 200 in south yorkshire" I then asked what would happen if I didnt accept the w.yorks one and held on for s.yorks and she said "you would not be set on this year and would remain on the merit list for 12 mnths, If I was not offered a posistion by this time thats basically it or apply again!!!!!! Therefore I had no choice but to accept the w.yorks one (as its getting to close to Christmas for my liking) and hope for a transfer to s. yorks in a year or so
She seemed very genuine and I do believe this is the case, however if I was you I would try and find out what number you are on the merit list and ask for a rough idea of how many they are setting on this year (bear in mind there is only 3 months of this year left)
All seems to be a bit of a nightmare if you ask me!!0 -
Just letting people know that according to the DWP on the phone this morning there has been a national recruitment freeze and they will not be posting anyone until they sort out exactly how many people they can place and how many they have.
Anyone waiting can expect to wait until at least the end of october for the freeze to be lifted and they may not have as many jobs as they thought so some with success letters may miss out.
This does not look good for people just applying now...0 -

I'm not in work today but from memory the only Benefit Delivery Centres are in Balham, Ilford and Stratford, hope that helps. I've been to the Stratford one for a meeting - its nice!
