Job Interview with DWP

I also applied online for job AO IRC 62644 for E/Port on 1/9/09
but to date I have not heard anything from them,seems like a long time, is this normal has anyone else waited this long???
Has anyone else that applied for AO IRC 62644 heard anything from them concerning the interview.

I also had an interview for Chester on 7th of September. Were you part of the morning lot or afternoon?

Thing is I know that this is the kind of job I could do well. A lot like other people in this thread.
But you dont get any second chances in interviews.

Apologies for the double post - but I received a letter from DWP this morning to say I've been successful in my application for AO, reference 62230/Chester :j

But... on a sour note, it also says I've been put on a waiting list for twelve months

Is that because I was good at the interview, but just not good enough, so I've been put on a reserve list? Or is this kind of common?

Anyone been placed on a waiting list in the past and then got the job a few weeks/months after? Just looking for a bit of hope, really...

I don't quite understand how I could be put on a waiting list for that long when the role is only for eighteen months anyway. And the process has been so quick up to now. The position was advertised for a week, I heard a week later that I'd been invited to interview, and now I've heard that I've been successful eight days after the interview... and now I could face a really, really long wait.

I'm not too sure, to be honest. I've read a lot of conflicting stories on here regarding waiting lists. I think it's a little closer to bad than good, though, I'm afraid. However, people have gone on to get the job after being on a waiting list, I think it just involves a longer wait than normal...

It's strange that you've been put on a waiting list as well, because in the afternoon lot, there were only about ten of us who went to interview - and one of the interviewers told me they wanted/needed a lot of people in that area

are you going to phone up newcastle and find out what number you are on the waiting list and how many positions they have, it seems a lot of people on here have done this, but I dont know what to do.

I've been trying to phone them this morning but it keeps on saying the line is busy. I'll keep on trying and as soon as I get through and hopefully get some information, I'll pass it on here.
