  • Thankyou to Slitty, I suppose patience is a virtue and and all that.
As for my scam, I decided against it. I am writing my disserataion for an MA in philosophy and I tend to get a bit paranoid. A dishonest phone call is liable to send me to a corner for a quick quiver and lid down.

All this waiting on top of the Diss (which is in for tuesday) is getting me down.
Perhaps I had best concentrate on that instead of being on here, yes I must log off.
    Soon
    HA!
    good luck to everyone!

Hehe... well, since some people have already been told their rank you should be entitled to ask, even if you don't have your letter yet. keep in mind as well that there have been a few extra mop-up interviews so your current rank may change once they add those in.

If you don't hear anything in the next few days let me know I'll happily PM you the number for the person that told me my rank.

I applied for a London-based EO vacancies (IRC62668) and had to fill in an application form and send it back by e-mail. How long would it take to get a reply to know whether I will have to do the online test? I sent the form to them via e-mail on Tuesday and haven't heard anything so far.
I've been told (by Manpower) that the DWP has ditched the online tests because they were causing more problems than they solved. I think the online tests are a better solution, but only once they're working well. That clearly wasn't the case with some IRC's earlier this year and hass resulted in DWP having to do a lot of follow-up interviews.

I'm going to be applying for 62668 as well, and have the page bookmarked. You almost certainly won't hear anything until after applications have closed, which is on th 7th Sept. If you read it all the way down on the job description page, it gives you estimated dates as follows:

Those successful at this stage will be required to undertake numerical and literacy testing on one of the following dates, 23/9/09 - 30/09/09. Candidates successful at test are likely to be invited to attend an interview between the 07/10/09 – 14/10/09.

They aren't using the online test for this IRC, they've gone back to the older in-person-at-a-test-session literacy and numeracy tests.
  • Hi All,

Went to leeds today for EO job, unfortunately failed the literacy test (9/15).

Worryingly i had difficulty finding the other errors, think I concentrated too much on spelling errors.

Anyone been today who passed who could pass any tips on.

I thought they just give you a failed letter - didnt know they tell you your mark as well?? :S
  • Yes,everyone got their marks.

I think 5/20 passed both tests and went forward to the interview stage in my session.

I was there today as well, but didnt have to sit the tests as I had passed them at a previous interview.

Sorry you failed the literacy test. what was the exercise - was it a memo or letter, and what was it about? If it was the same as mine, I will try and remember what the mistakes were
