Yes, try and think of an example that covers most of the points in the comptency. If you don't provide enough information they will prompt you for more, they want to know what you did, so always say "I did this" rather than "we did this"..

    Hope this helps..

    where is your interview..

    good luck

You are allowed to take in notes with you to the interview. Use the STAR approach:

    SITUATION
Give an example of a situation you were involved in that resulted in a positive outcome

    TASK
Describe the tasks involved in that situation

    ACTION
Talk about the various actions involved in the situation’s task

    RESULT
What results directly followed because of your actions

Customer insight is the same as Delivering a Customer Focused Service I think, so expect to be asked 2 different questions on this.

I hope you don't mind me asking but when were your previous two interviews..did you not learn anything from them as to what to expect and how to go about answering the questions on the comptencies.

    those interviews were last year.
1st one i totally forgot it was competency based
2nd one i was at another job and didnt really prepare and the interviewer came down om me hard unlike the 1st one

if i use STAR then how can i touch on all the points?

You don't need to touch on all points - just try and think of a situation that covers the most important sections of the competency.

Try and prepare two examples for each competency - it's tough to get one situation that covers everything. In the interview just choose and talk about the one example that fits the question best. Keep your notes short. For the whole interview try and keep to one A4 in total - no more than two!! That method helped me a lot.

Finding this thread really helpful, thanks guys!
Just a quick question, some people are talking about online tests, are these questions on what you would do in a certain situation? Do you take the test at home? Also, are the online tests instead of numeracy and literacy tests?
Thanks for any replies and good luck everyone who has applied/got interviews.
