90 days consultation which i'm under with my current employer - leading to redundancy on 31/07.
I based some of my answers around experiences gained as part of this.
Don't panic - just breatheeverything will be fine i'm sure
Sorry about your looming redundancy as well ! I hate being out of work, but nothing going in my line of business until the property market gets back on its feet. Thought that the DWP was a brilliant chance for a change of career. what line of business are you in then, with you being involved in staff recruitment?0 -

I work in a call centre at the moment - team managers here were responsible for the interviewing etc of potential new starters. A few months before we received notice they changed the recruitment process - instead of just a competancy interview they were involved in assesments, group discussions etc which was interesting from an assessors point of view.
The D.W.P job appealed to me in so far as i love interacting with people anyway, i also like a challenge and the thought of learning a new role from the ground up appeals to me. I'm also (if i'm successful) going to start an O.U degree. In the long run i want to do as much as possible to avoid being caught in this situation again - it's an unpleasant feeling knowing that time's ticking away (although to an extent i'm responsible for that - holding out for a redundancy package!)
What's your line of work? I noted you said there was nothing available whilst the housing market is on its backside - you're not an estate agent are you?First name Mister

No, not an estate agent - god love 'em;) I have been working in property law for many years, so no house sales, no workShould have chosen a different area of law methinks:rotfl:
Are you with the T mobile lot then. Its madness what they have done transferring their call centres abroad. My 2 'kids' are with the call centres down there at Dearne Valley at the moment. I live minutes away from there, so its convenient at the mo, while the jobs are still there. I had a telephone interview for T mobile when I first heard I was for the chop - but the little girlie who rang me scared me off :rotfl::rotfl: Glad she did now.0 -
Has anyone had their interview for IRC 60368 (AO in Surrey). The deadline for the online test was 02/07/09. I still haven't heard anything. I also haven't heard for another IRC exercise (AA in London) for which the deadline was 05/07/09. There wasn't an online test for this one though. Any ideas...0

This forum has been very helpful as I now know what to expect tomorrow although I am quite nervous. I did the online test a few weeks ago and on Thursday got invited to the interview (AO position) at Sheffield Wednesday FC tomorrow afternoon.
Good luck to the rest of you, I really need this job!0 -

I did the AO interview a few weeks ago, 3 days after the EO interview. TBH, there was very little difference between them.
Don't be too nervous. The interviewers are really friendly and if the organising is well done it is a fairly smooth and stress free process from start to finish.
It's only after the interview that the inefficiencies start to surface.0 -

Yeah, i'm at Dearne Valley too. I've stayed here so long as it's convenient for me - i only live a short walk away. I've got a lot of (strong) opinions about T-Mobile and the whole situation in general but will keep a lid on them until i finish - i don't want to do anything to endanger my payout..

Hi everyone. I have an interview tomorrow for the AO position. Quite nervous as it's my first real interview. So glad I came across this thread it has helped a lot.
My four competencies are -
Delivering a Customer Focused Service
Building Capability
Analysing, Improving & Changing
Delivering a Professional Service
I'm struggling to think of some example questions for the last three. How many questions do they have for each competency? My worst fear at the moment is being asked a question I haven't thought of and having nothing to say
