Hi, can anyone help me i applied for a job as AO and recieved voicemail to say i'd been invited to interview etc and that i'd be receiving an email with more info and list of documentation i need to bring but i havent received an email yet and the interview is on monday. I can't find a contact number does anyone have one or can anyone tell me what the email includes and if i really need it? The voicemail also said my interview would be for EO but i'd applied for AO is this normal??!

    Thanks

I never received an email, just a call to say i passed the online test and been invited to interview, they explained that the interview is competency based and told me what the competencies were, you should look at a similar role advertised on the dwp website and you will find the competencies in the advert.

Perhaps you did so well in the test that they invitied you for an interview for EO, that will ofcourse make the interview harder i'd assume.

Was the call from DWP or Manpower or someone else?
  • Thanks for your help. I'm not sure who the call was from they just said my application for EO was successful and that i'd be receiving an email with info about the documentation i needed to bring with me. I've been reading previous posts about forms of ID that people had been asked to bring. Is that all i need with me?

    Thanks

I think that is it, but it wouldn't hurt to take proof of your current address as well (eg bank statement). Have you already given them a passport photo of yourself? If not, you should take one.

You will be asked to fill out some forms when you get there so you will need to know:
    -your doctor's address
-your addresses over the past five years

I'll send you a pm with a couple of numbers you can call for info.
  • Right was just going to write a letter of complaint and literally just got a call with my start date!! IM SOOO HAPPY!! Hasn't been through lack of trying tho!!

I attended my exam end of march for EO position and had my interview the next day, i was suprised how quickly it happened and thought i would be starting soon if i was succesful. I finally had a letter on the 11th of may to state i was successful and they were undergoing pre recruitment checks which will take a minimum of 5 weeks. their 5 weeks went by and i spent constant time chasing newcastle to get hold of the relevant person to see my progress. I then managed to get hold of someone eventually and they let me know that they hadnt even sent my CRB out until 29th may! I then kept chasing and chasing and i got my CRB 2 weeks ago. I was then told the place where u will be working will call you in the next 2 weeks with a start date. 2 weeks today and still havent heard anything so i took it upon myself to ring 2 of my 3 choices of places to let them know my checks have been cleared. The manager of the Reading office (my first choice) took it upon herself to chase up newcastle for me. Which im so gratefull for. She then called me back 30 mins ago with a start date of the 10th of August!!! Finally it has all been worth while!! :)

Good luck to all of you, but must say it can be a very stressfull and long process, i do think it is now all worth while tho!! Just thankfull its all over!

HaHa congrats...I think those who had interview before the change in April still were going through some long, old process of recruiting people.

I was actually one of those lucky enough to have a quick process, which I noticed quite few people have also when having their interviews after the change in April.

24th June had interview for EO position.
3rd July received successful letter (dated 27th June).
9th July had to fill in pension form and send it off.
16th July received my CRB form.
20th July received call giving me my start date and location, both perfect :T

All in all every week something was happening for me, and it's like great feeling once you get that call. Now it's just the waiting for the training and starting work lol. Very excited to start, this will be my first proper full time job.

Seems they really need EO staffs to start as soon as possible. Best of luck to everyone

definitely not a quick process for the posts in Leeds. It is dragging like hell. It is now 6 weeks since the closing date for EO applications and 3 weeks since the interviews but still no news.

What I can't understand is, why are DWP advertising again for posts in Leeds for both EO and AO if they haven't got the last lost of interviews sorted yet:confused:

If the job descriptions are to be believed they are different jobs. The ones currently being advertised are for "evening" work and I guess will get a different bunch of applicants, though whether that is the case - who knows? Certainly, my wife and I have both applied for all the jobs listed in the area as they have come up - all have been slightly different hours or job specs.

Well I managed to get through to dwp this morning, and they said not to read too much into it, they don't know how that has happened and so it doesnt necessarily mean I am successful - I was also told that there has been a delay for some reason in processing results for the vacancy (IRC60076).. It's all alittle confusing to be told one day that interviews are still on going and then to be told theres been a mix up somewhere!

Got my successful letter today :)
